IMO you lead with the wrong argument. You should not have called sexism, you should have explained that changing a jug of water is not in your job description and you would be expecting more money for taking on more responsibilities.

Many public schools have mentoring programs where you have lunch with an at-risk kid (on school grounds, in the line of sight of other adults) a couple of times per month. I used to recruit for such a program, and the need for male volunteers was dire. That is the original text. No where does it mention lying. It literally states "Have lunch". I am not really sure what you are arguing here. You don't have to lie to him. All it is for is having lunch with an "at-risk" kid. You know, trying to hel…

This isn't about the message. It is about the kid that you are having lunch with. That kid is a human being. They have feelings, they have parents, probably siblings. They go through the same stuff we went through when we were their age. You may be willing to abandon them because of some message or ideology or whatever, but I don't want that. I grew up poor, in a poor neighborhood. I know how small, insignificant, and lonely those kids can feel. Sometimes showing a little compassion can make all…

I'd volunteer my time to act as an MRA for young men. But not as a synthetic male substitute running in a passively misandric female orbit. This is the problem IMO. You are more worried about how other people perceive you helping people, than actually helping people. I know lunch with a kid once a week isn't going to make them president. But I can imagine many scenarios where it helps, even a little bit. I don't know why you hate the idea of trying to help a child that gets little to no help els…

Fuck that, do it to help the kid out. Anything that can help at least one kid out, weather it has MRA attached to it or not, is worth it. Men's rights are certainly relevant here. IMO you shouldn't go to indoctrinate the child, you should go to help someone. Boys don't get much help. I don't see why you are against helping a boy, unless you are upset you can't try and turn the boy into an MRA. Which I believe is a problem. You shouldn't be reaching out for members that way. In order for this to …

I disagree with this. Don't let other people govern what you do with your family. I have gone out with both of my children without my wife. I have went to parks in this city (Austin Texas), and taken pictures. You cannot let them dictate what you do based on what-ifs. I know it may be in the back of your mind, but if you do let them tell you what you can do, they are winning. Please don't restrict your happiness because some harpys may scream. Let them scream. Ignore them. If the cops come, deal…

I agree with you. I don't read much here save for the "fathers4justince" posts and anything to do with child support/alimony issues. Stuff I think we need work on. IMO this is because we have new, young users who have not experienced any issues with divorce court (not that I have, just those are the most important to me as they may affect me).

Seems to me you missed the point of her post. I read the post more as he disagreeing and trying to point out the "gender war" is a divide and conquer strategy. And I agree with her. I think you spending the time and effort to refute the other things she said shows this. You didn't (and probably don't) care about the "fight shouldn't be men vs women". You jumped straight into it to show how men are victims or some shit. I would highly suggest reading into what they write next time. To me it looks…

Doubtful, already a man and I still don't understand why she can't be aware of where she it walking. Considering it is her choice to wear the heels. But whatever, keep treating her like a child. I'm sure that is exactly what she wants and you will have no problems. That last sentence was not sarcasm.

From what I can tell, they are claiming "gender" is what sex you feel like, and "sex" is weather you have a penis or vagina. What I don't understand is how they want to switch between "genders" depending on what mood they are in. I've looked up non-binary stuff and it is really odd. I feel really old when I read about it.

Whoa there buddy. Why are you jumping to conclusions about how this guys feels about women? To me, it infers there is someone in his life that eats a lot of corn chips and makes him do a ton of work because they are lazy. Maybe you shouldn't react to the way you think people on the internet feel, or just don't post. I would prefer it if you just didn't post.

My problem with trigger warnings is that it should not be the responsibility of the person who wrote/presents/teaches/whateverthefuckelse the material should not be responsible for the people who are reading/watching/whatever's emotions. If I write an article about pink slime, and a vegan reads it and "gets triggers" from the contents, is it really my fault they had those feelings? Perhaps they should grow up and deal with things that happen in the real world instead of hide from it? Or just sto…

But poor people (at least in the south) generally report less to the Police. This is my personal experience, so if any one has meaningful stats, feel free to prove me wrong. I often used to hear about things like this happening and the police never got involved. My point is, that would more than likely get reported to the police today, but 20 years ago things were different and it is entirely possible it didn't get reported. Don't get me wrong. IMO she was being a cunt when she sent the mob afte…

These stories about her estranged father knocking-out her mothers teeth - what a loud of far-fetched nonsense: he'd have been in prison for years if he'd done that. It's all too pat and over-blown. I have to disagree with you there. I don't know how old she is, but domestic violence was handled a lot different now than in my father's time.

The first part of you comment struck me as kind of odd: Being inconsiderate of fellow passengers by taking up more space than you need when conditions are crowded is a minor form of antisocial behavior and we should encourage awareness about it. I don't understand why this is even an issue that needs awareness.

I just got my 3 year old a Navi, it has the same shitty software on it. It is a 3rd party app that basically restricts what apps you can get into. You can't edit any of the apps in the list until you pay the 3rd party company (I forget who they are, but fuck them anyways). It is something ridiculous like $15 a month. Honestly, I understand where you are coming from. But I think this is something dumb to complain about. I am more upset about them adding an app by default that you have to pay for …

Eh. I'm not against cat-calling, but I am not for it either. It seems really trivial to me, but then again I don't get girls hooting at me on the street. At least not anymore, since i have aged a bit. The only interesting part of this whole thing, to me, is what this is going to affect. Meaning, if laws are passed, the wording of the law, and the enforcement of the law. I really don't see a good way to make laws against cat-calling that would not amount to "Don't talk to strange people". While I…

Yeah, pretty sure you live in one large city and make your generalization from that. Down here in the south, saying good morning or waving to random people is normal. Even in large cities.

Can you clarify on 'The defence, that saying "good morning" is not harassment, must come from people not living in a large city.'? To me it seems like you are implying that in "large cities" saying good morning is harassing someone. If this is the case, then I have a hard time understanding how telling some random person good morning is harassing them. I grew up just outside a large city and currently live in a different large city and I get told good morning by strangers regularly. Perhaps this…

Saw this in another article: Men accounted for 97% of alimony-payers last year, according to the U.S. Census Bureau, although the share of women supporting ex-husbands is on the rise. I agree he should have used protection. But it is not like he would have given her a questionnaire to determine if she was a nut bag or not. Just saying it can be significantly hard to tell if some people are bat shit insane.

I am not OK with this in the least. Imagine someone that was falsely accused. Now they get harassed even if they were proven innocent due to lack of evidence. Now think about how someone could get a group of people to all make the same claim, now that innocent person is constantly being watched. As a poster above mentioned, too much room for abuse. No one is thinking of the people who might actually be innocent.

I disagree, here is why: Here is your example "For example, the Danish newspaper which printed extremely offensive jokes about Mohammed and Islam was wrong to do so. Not because it's wrong to make jokes about Mohammed but because the joke deliberately targeted all Muslims, even the vast majority who just want to live their lives and beliefs in peace." The problem with the above, is that it fits everything. Black people joking about white people, Atheist joking about Christians, one nation joking…

Your example above is laughable. Even if that did happen, he should not be arrested. Simply because cutting sausages or watermelon is not against the law. Making cutting sausages or watermelons in a "threatening manner" against the law would be so open to interpretation it would kill the intent. Using your logic, you should be investigated by the Police if I called them up and suggested you were posting this in a threatening manner. However I do agree that the article lacks information and persp…

Amazing. Can you elaborate on why you think the Police should investigate a man that carved a watermelon. I cannot logically think of a single instance where those words should be strung together. I am really having a hard time understanding this.

My first post was a quote of you saying the following: "That while every person who makes rape jokes and such isn't necessarily a rapist, they contribute through their speech and actions to the creation of rapists, and should as such stop doing it." When you say "...and should as such stop doing it." That is where I got the idea you want to censor what people can say. All I am trying to do is point out and convince you that censorship should not be the answer.
/r/MensRights24/06/14 05:24 PM

So your answer to dumb people being dumb is to censor everyone? How about we educate people better rather than restrict what people are allowed to say? Baby proofing our speech to keep idiots from being idiots is just as idiotic as them listening to the idiotic joke in the first place. We don't need the government telling us what we can and cannot say.

This right here. Stop getting offended by people making jokes. This is the same thing the feminist do. If this subreddit keeps on getting offended over jokes, you become feminism with a penis.

You said the following: "That while every person who makes rape jokes and such isn't necessarily a rapist, they contribute through their speech and actions to the creation of rapists, and should as such stop doing it." And I cannot condone this type of thinking. You seriously said no one should be able to joke about rape. Personally I don't really care if joking about rape adds to "rape culture" or not. I don't even make rape jokes, but I cannot fathom why you think censoring what people can jok…

I see your point on the steak and BJ thing. I just don't think it is as big a deal as you are making it is all. However I don't think you understand what the OP was trying to convey with the hormones statement. She was not saying "Dress nice or men's hormones will make them rape you". She was saying "Dress for the occasion and stop blaming men's hormones as the reason you cannot dress however you want". At least that is what I got from the paragraph. Also note the OP is not a native English spea…

Context! When she said the following: "In some places if you dress showing your sexual attributes you will not be taken seriously just like a man dressed in a tight spandew suit wouldn't be, so don't blame men because they can't keep their hormones straight." She was not saying that we cannot keep our hormones straight, she was telling the women to not blame us for not keeping our hormones straight and to dress right. In other words, don't place the blame on men, dress appropriate. At least I am…
