its in phoenix, echo canyon, i pass by there all the time, this is NOT a hike for casual out of town people, and not many locals would attempt to do this hike in the summer during the hottest part of the day. if he were any kind of a decent person he would have refused to hike when he saw how little water she brought. you need gallons.

actually a lot of people go on hikes in arizona with a laughable amount of water, they are mainly from out of town, and sometimes have to be rescued. they will also get a bill for their rescue. a lot of people come to az from out of town lookimg for the lost dutchmans gold mine in some of the most treacherous terrain and they never bring enough water

people die in the sonoran desert in summer. its the wilderness. the temperatures are lethal, and this is an expert hike that they attempted. hearing stories of people who visit from out of town and end up succumbing to the heat out in the wilderness, where they brought one tiny bottle of water. ,..and of course, the dude happens to be a cop
