Listen, you clearly dont have the cognitive empathy and seemingly the cognition whatsoever to be capable of handling the nuance necessary to navigate the conversation you started, let alone to respect other victims lived experiences. Please go away and just go back to hating men or whatever psuedo constructive BS you think youre doing
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/26 04:09 PM

Fuck off, you have made zero coherent arguments, zero good faith, you clearly have zero interest in solving this issue or questioning the patriarchy. You want the status quo to continue so you can keep pointing the finger and blaming men wholesale and posturing righteously so you can pretend to excuse yourself from the onus of citing your sources, arguing in good faith and with substance, and doing anything whatsoever other than VICTIM BLAMING VICTIMS like fucking me. You’re a sexist. Chew on th…

You keep mentioning research, WHAT RESEARCH????? Youre not even articulating what argument the research is making!! Ive said this how many times now??? Bad faith, willfully ignorant!
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/26 03:52 PM

Thank you for a thoughtful and substantive response, means a lot, because as we see here otherwise, and basically almost always on the reddit and modern culture hivemind, the only answer I usually hear to this question is “YOU’RE A PIECE OF SHIT” I’ve never abused a woman, hopefully those that do get called pieces of shit more than I do! (Pressing x to doubt)
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/26 03:00 PM

Youve been unwilling to have a civil substantive conversation, asking a question is not victim blaming. You being unable to answer it is ultimately enablement and excusing away your complicitness with a toxic dynamic and utter refusal to question or challenge it beyond othering and blaming other people
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/26 02:35 PM

Gross, so gross. Willfully ignorant, obsessed with preconceived notions and generalizations, unwilling to engage in any substance whatsoever. Not worth my time. Go white knight somewhere else
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/26 01:51 PM

What an utterly gross white knight response, you just lowered my faith in humanity that much further. “The research is out there” Okay, then SHARE IT, if you understand research you should be capable of sharing it to substantiate whatever argument you’re making (which I cant even discern because all you said was “the research is out there” WHAT research?? You didnt even attempt to summarize it or indicate what argument youre using “the research” to substantiate). And then to be so reactive to ac…

Certain men who grew up in households of patriarchal domestic abuse hate assholes because they ruin children’s lives. And yes, as a man I frankly do wonder why a woman would get herself into such a fucked up situation as enabling severe abuse of herself or her children. “Its just what some women are attracted to” doesnt cut it. Obviously I’m not excusing men, unstable men are fucking horrible, but for it to be so insanely common in patriarchal america for women to end up in these abuser / doorma…

Not?? Why would it be worse? We should be striving toward showing predatory men that they don’t have the right and responsibility to incessantly approach women (not to mention with zero cultural rules or guidelines on how to ethically/respectfully/effectively) do so. A rejection is a rejection regardless of who approaches, your rationale is inherently status quo patriarchal and suggests that women should basically operate from fear fundamentally (by the very nature of fear, never a good idea) wh…

Predators act like predators. They are highly successful at being predatory because women generally expect men to approach them. It’s patriarchal and it makes no fucking sense.

Yes, “society” isn’t an excuse for shitty behavior. But it also isnt untrue that patriarchal norms and conditioning are alive and well still at work causing massive widespread gender divides and iniquities. I think its irresponsible to make one argument without including the other. Too many people pretend that theyre acting in accordance with feminist ideology when they’re doing straight up patriarchal shit, and thats also very not okay and should he called out accordingly for what it is as wors…

Appreciate the comment! I’ve had a few women comment to me on how women are just “the more attractive sex”, “objectively prettier” or whatever, and I just assumed both genders saw women as the more aesthetically pleasing gender/sex. I’m thinking now maybe thats just because a lot of women are bicurious, at least many of the women I know are. Its a small confidence boost to hear your experience and perception views men as attractive in a similar way as we view women, so thank you for sharing

As a man, I’ve heard more women say “men are visual” than men. And from my experience, what they mean is men are more primarily sexually attracted to women’s appearance, because have you seen women?? It has nothing to do with us being “visual” in any other way than “lady pretty 😍” Saying “all men care about is looks” is also objectifying, we care about attitude, personality, and context too, we just can’t deny how beautiful the female face and body is, can you?

I’m directly replying to what you said, the “old maid” vs “eligible bachelor” trope is a natural result of women on average choosing to date up in age. This a patriarchal norm
/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/26 03:15 AM

Yes because on average, women date up in age, which is a patriarchal norm
/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/26 01:51 AM

Copy it? How about read your own damn post! Its abundantly clear that your mind is made up and you just want to be defensive and ignore an actual male perspective. You are part of the problem, not the solution. Open your ears and think instead of jumping to massive false assumptions
/r/PurplePillDebate07/07/26 03:02 PM

Point to where you did that?? The fifth word of your headline!! And the entirety of the rest of it! Youre perpetuating toxic masculinity if youre shaming men for watching porn, probably one of the only sexual outlets many of us have You wanna talk about patriarchy and repressed emotion, violence, insanity? Take away porn and watch how much worse things get You have a ridiculously simplistic understanding of men, and you dont seem very curious or interested in asking us about our experience, you …

This post is so unbelievably stupid I cant even make it through reading it. Tell me you’ve never once thought about or asked a man about their life experience without telling me
/r/PurplePillDebate07/07/26 02:36 PM

If you’re a woman and you’re running with this narrative, it is astoundingly depressing how badly you fail to understand men. Take a page out of the new age feminism handbook for once and maybe listen to us explain our lived experience for five seconds instead of jumping to huge assumptions and false over generalized conclusions like OP did in this post
/r/PurplePillDebate07/07/26 02:34 PM

This might be true for some incredibly stupid men, but it is massively incorrect and irrelevant for men as a whole. You’re massively overgeneralizing putting men in an inherently patriarchal role and then you’re blaming them for it. Annoying and stupid post frankly

I agree that we’re all responsible for our emotional expression, BUT. The reality is, a man who is venting anger (within reasonable limits, not talking about unhinged rage or any kind of violence), is literally the same core experience as a woman crying. So if youre saying “men shouldn’t be angry”, it will be as difficult for a man to not express anger as it is for a woman to not cry. Its the same emotional experience. Unless you want men crying as much and as often as women do, then youre advoc…

I’m pretty sure women can get a lot more grace, validation, understanding, and comfort when they cry then men do, speaking as a man who literally never has and sees women getting it regularly. If jts not sufficient, I can understand that but you definitely don’t know what the male extent of emotional repression feels like (at least if you were raised in US culture like I was) Agreed on your last sentence, but again, women are provided with much more emotional validation than men, from toddler ag…

You sound like youre in a healthy, secure relationship which is amazing. Its hard for me, not having a womans lived experience, to discern this, as very few men have demonstrated rage in front of me (although most men in my family have). Its a giant red flag on how emotionally unwell men are if theyre selectively reserving their most violent emotions for their SO’s. The will to change by Bell Hooks is the best thing I’ve read that gets to the root of these repressed emotions, but sadly I think m…

Yeah absolutely. Finding non patriarchal male friends isn’t easy. And sure, but do you really think most of our parents (boomers and gen x) did that? They were raised in a different world where patriarchal norms like “boys will be boys” were just “how things are” So putting that on them is kinda just damning most millennials and zoomers to repeat the cycle. We are growing, despite our shitty invalid upbringings, but I still don’t feel like I live in a world where men and women support me for goi…

Okay thats completely valid, you’re describing unhinged rage which is never acceptable. I’m more coming from the perspective of having one ex in particular that could not understand normal anger, processing/venting and conflating that with rage. I think women who had a sheltered upbringing or who don’t have brothers can sometimes misunderstand anger as directed at them or as a threat, when in a way we’re actually just trying to open up and bond. If you’re cool with your fiance crying, youre a ra…

We’re shamed for seeking professional help. I go to therapy and I have coworker “friends” who tease me about it. Its not above your pay grade if you love someone. His anger is as valid as your tears and he deserves as much validation for his feelings as you do when you cry. Most women would be even more uncomfortable by a crying man, so if hes ever comforted you when you cry “thats above my paygrade” is BS, frankly.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 12:26 PM

Men are raised to never cry, never let their emotions out in any way other than anger. We need help finding other ways, not to be demonized whenever we’re angry (particularly if its not directed at you), you being afraid of that fuels the emotions causing the anger, and makes us feel dehumanized. I’m not implying anything or saying that you need to change, but this is the reality of this situation, and it hopefully will help to be aware of it in the future

Its not about fucking, thats just you projecting your own internalized normalized patriarchal expectations on men. We want companionship, equity, love, trust, support, just like you do. Our patriarchal history, teaching men and women that men don’t need or deserve these things, is what has spun the narrative into “all men want is sex” and has gaslit most men and women into thinking this trope is true, because patriarchy doesn’t want us looking directly at these repressed emotional needs and nami…

I’m just using it as a benchmark for when I first noticed a gender divide in my life. The overwhelming message from sex ed that day to the boys in my experience was “stay away from the girls, don’t talk to the girls about any of this, leave the girls alone, don’t ask the girls about their sex ed class” etc, etc, etc I get it, any one of us who has listened an inkling got it long ago, we understand some men are creepy and some men are predatory. This incessant fixation for both men and women to d…

You’re doing the thing right now. I acknowledged exactly what you said in my comment if you read it thoroughly, and yet you’re impulsively conflating my lived experience with race and sexuality stereotypes and dismissing it. It’s Normalized emotional dehumanization of men, which perpetuates the patriarchy.

The premise of the first thing you said is entirely incorrect. It was destroyed by society as a whole, men and women are both responsible for how men are treated, one could even argue women are even MORE responsible in this day and age but I’m not gonna die on that hill. Read Bell Hooks, your excusal of women from accountability for patriarchy and therefore from a co-gender’ed effort toward equity is precisely the fuel that will keep the patriarchy burning.

Given that women’s experiences are broadcast 24/7, infused into corporate trainings, social and political movements, special holidays, exclusive gendered sub groups in nearly all career fields and college majors, and this has been happening relentlessly (which is effectively just a lot of patronizing and spite charged preaching to the choir), since the day we were first separated by gender during the 4th grade sex ed talk at school, let alone have strived as a society to grant women more equalit…

So you obviously acknowledge the difference, but are you saying that’s how it should be? I’m not “lucky” to have been shown basic kindness and transparency. That’s how all humans should treat each other if they like them instead of expecting one gender to pursue because of their biology and outdated archaic puritan social rules. We are not “lucky” to have this shitty system, our divorce rate is in the toilet and domestic abuse is sky high because of our inability to stray from patriarchal norms …

I started my first response with “sure”. That means “I agree”. Well I’m a man and I’ve rarely been approached both by a woman who I was attracted to and by two women I was not. The former became a gf for awhile and the latter two both became alive long close friends. I can’t speak for all men but I can guarantee you in my life, ALL the women who have approached me will last in my memory forever and be held in high regard by me for the courage they showed in doing that and for the flattery of doi…

Yes they can, I already said I agree with that, which you apparently glossed right over My point, that you keep escaping, is that the gender dynamics are such that ALL women are empowered to with high likelihood flatter a man by approaching, if they aren’t already getting matches on dating apps or being approached in public. Men do not have these privileges

I can’t possibly imagine any woman who has at least done bare minimum work on herself wouldn’t be drowning in right swipes on dating apps or at least occasionally approached in public. If that’s not the case, she STILL has the option literally any time to approach and flatter the fuck out of any man on this earth, even if he’s not interested it’s highly highly likely he’d be flattered and handle it with grace, which should be an ego boost to both of them

Women get called whores either way, and I suspect a lot more in the current status quo which we both agree is wrong and unsustainable/inequitable. I’m advocating for a reversal of a patriarchal norm, and I’m informed by Bell Hooks in particular in saying this. It astounds me how much resistance women tend to have to the concept. Patriarchal conditioning I assume, but I find that miserably sad
/r/PurplePillDebate15/06/26 01:11 AM

Wouldn’t women approaching more be the solution to that? There is no incentive for men to stop approaching, but the tide change is a huge incentive for women to flip the dynamic. As a man that survived an upbringing in a household full of patriarchal abuse, being expected to “pursue” women turns me off and honestly makes me sick. This has made dating incredibly hard for me and people presumably who are like me. The very very few times I’ve been approached by women in my life have been some of th…

Sure, but there’s a hugely significant amount of “mess” that just happens and has to be cleaned anyway, like doing laundry, drying (I hang dry), ironing, folding, etc. Picking shit off the floor is the least of my worries, it costs 1% of the time that all that other shit does. I’m not one to throw my shit all over the floor, but if / when I do, it literally doesn’t matter. Nah most women tend to pre select for abusive traits. I’ve seen it my entire life, from my own mother to my grandmothers on both sides to my female cousins to my aunts to my friends in school to my friends in college to my coworkers. It’s patriarchy, and a viscous cycle of fear is keeping most women trapped in and perpetuating the very patriarchal norms that so many say they’re vehemently against. Many men and women suck in a multitude of ways along a spectrum of suckiness. Some women suck in this way, it’s generational patriarchal heteronormative conditioning that some embrace and others rebel from. I think we’ve spent an abundance of time, at least in “American popular culture” in the last decade describing the plights of women and telling men to shut up and listen. What we haven’t done is acknowledge the emotional neglect men experience every day and the deep damage it has reaped on th…
