I understand it’s no excuse, it is just a very real side effect of the medication he has to take to get better. Anti psychotic doses are supposed to be small and incremental, I took it at one point for sleep at 200mg + rimron and RLS medication (forgetting the name at the moment) when I was getting off dope. The dr he saw did not prescribe his medication correctly and that’s why he’s having these troubles. Granted, any SSRI fucks with your brain chemistry and makes you act in a way you normally …

It’s his medication. Bipolar medications are no joke, they completely alter your brain chemistry and that results in a lot of tricky situations. And we cannot afford a nanny, I live in the US so everything is extremely expensive

CPS is not our friend in the states. Both my husband and I have histories of drug abuse and they do not take kindly to that. CPS is out of the question, but I am willing to go to therapy with him. I will bring it up when he’s done with his work.

He has no recollection of the event and I believe him. He took his full dose of seroquel when he usually only takes a quarter and I believe that seriously influenced his reactions. This is not anormal behavior for him on medication so I have no reason not to believe him. I’m fact, the shock on his face alone finding my son and I on the couch was enough to convince me that he didn’t know what he said/did the night before. He is troubled, yes, but I am as well. We have been through hell and back t…

The thing is, he is getting help. He is back on his meds and as you probably know there is a period in which the symptoms get worse before they get better. He also does online counseling with a woman we both know in the field. He is trying his best to support his family, there are just times where the “worse” of the situation slips out. He finds my weaknesses and exploits them to make himself feel. My job is my child, and that is how it should be. My son is safe, loved, and cared for in every wa…

He is getting treatment for his illness and I have been with him while he’s stabilized on multiple occasions. When he turned 26 and his insurance cut off it was a serious blow to him and our relationship that we are working towards remedying. He is not a bad person, I know him as himself and he is a good, decent man. These instances are few and far between, but when they hit, they hit hard. I am defending him because I know him, I know the real him, not the manic/depressive version of him. I kno…

In my opinion he just needs to stabilize on his medication. SSRIS and other anti-psychotics are a bitch to start on and it takes awhile to become “normal” again. I’ve been with this man through some of the lowest points in both of our lives, and there is a connection there that is not just mental or physical. I anticipated rough patches while he stabilized, but the name calling and degradation are very hard for me to get over. He is a good father and a wonderful man, he just has a disease that c…

He provides for our family completely and totally, to the point of sacrificing himself and his wellbeing. I only work once or twice a week 4-5 hour shifts max, along with a little die work online. He provides the rest. When he is in a manic state he does prey on my weaknesses and that’s a problem we are working through when he becomes more clear headed. He was stable when I met him and on multiple occasions in between so I don’t doubt he’s capable of getting to that point again, it’s just the in…

Yes, we are both recovering heroin addicts. We both are on MAT and have been since before my son was conceived. We’ve had a few slip ups here and there but for the most part we’ve been stable on our doses and completely functional. My fiancé (we refer to each other as husband and wife usually so it’s odd writing fiancé) only now had his mental health issues to worry about. He does not have insurance so finding a psych dr who will take him has been very difficult and we’ve had to struggle thought…

He just started back on his medication about a month ago, so we are just getting to the end of the rough patch. His usual dose is 50mg Zoloft once and day and 10mg IR Seroquel 3 times a day, but the new psych dr he’s going to changed his dose to 25mg Zoloft and 50mg Seroquel XR to take once a day. The night in question he took the full 50mg and he claims that he blacked out and has no recollection of the night and what he said/did. Usually we split his dose into 4 parts with a pill cutter as to …

We have a very low bed + carpeted floors and my son likes to crawl off of it semi regularly, I do not consider it child abuse and my son gets nothing more than a shock when he takes a tumble. He is very advanced for his age (standing, walking with assistance) so he falls regularly. That part of the story was not meant to be the most relevant part.

We used to use heroin, correct, but we’ve been on sub maintenance for a year and a half at this point.

He really has been so patient and caring with me through the hardest times, but it's so easy to fall into doubting myself and what I contribute to our relationship, especially with all these hormones buzzing in my body. He fell in love with normal me and everything worked so well, and then pregnant me came along and stirred everything up. I feel like it's important for me to make up for all the crap I put him through in the beginning before I give birth and there's a strict celibacy I medically …

We are technically engaged, but the proposal was out of character for him because he doesn't trust or believe in marriage. I made it clear to him that I didn't need the official title as long as I'm given the respect and loyalty that it implies. If at some point he decides he's comfortable with taking the next step then I'll be very happy but it isn't a deal breaker. I'm planning on using this last month to give him all the attention he deserves before our son arrives. Having a newborn will be a…

He proposed a few days before I found out I was pregnant so we're technically engaged, but there are no marriage plans in place. The proposal was very much a surprise because he's pretty strongly against marriage, so I have a ring but I don't know if/when it will progress past this point. Edit: And thank you. :)

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
