Being able to understand complex data structures and optimizing queries doesn't mean you are not an imbecile at everything else (A lot of personal experience). Obviously higher bar of entry but still not every apple is gonna be a golden one. Good luck though, my only suggestion would be to decide one a few core characteristics (max 2-3) that you can't negotiate on. The abstinence from social media and healthy routines are good suggestions best wishes

Sounds like an oversimplification. You can't be sure about her. She might be upholding her values and taking them seriously or she might not either way it seems at least that she is serious about her commitment, also the problem with personal experience is that it creates a false absolute belief. You give the example of the holy 30 year old virgin who turned out to be a bad wife material woman while other people such as me had the opposite experience. Sounds of Asian origin. In china and japan for example a worker's mistake is blamed on the foreman they view the team as a whole and the successes and failures are directly reflecting on the team therefore if she did a mistake then he is to be blamed. At least that's my understanding of the culture.

As a man in STEM I would like to give you a different POV. All day every day up to noon I work as a computer and software engineer, although I don't want a woman in the same field. Mainly for 2 reasons: When I go home and meet with my SO, I really don't want to discuss or give a bigger part of my day to work, having someone who will never be able to truly grasp your work problems has the positive part that when you get home you will not be talking about work again or at least not for an extended…

I would respectfully disagree, it's true we jab each other way more, but the truth of the matter is that those insults we trade are more about familiriaty, respect and making a friend looking a bit like a bad boy in front of other women. (to clarify) It's much more impressive if I say a story about a friend of mine than if he says it himself and that's where most of the friendly insults take place, but most of the time it's a disguise of compliments or just plain friendliness.

I would like to give you my thoughts on the topic. You seem to be nice and treat him well. From your description of him it seems that he is good for you. Now while at work especially high end stressful jobs he has no time to just relax with a friend. We really need some time to spend with our friends whether that time is spent bowling, watching a movie or playing computer games is irrelevant. Now more specificly on video games, what most of us like about them is the challenge. There are some ins…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
