I just looked at the ROTC. I was actually in JROTC in high school. I never knew it was this awesome in college though. This really changed everything for me now. I might do this and get a bachelors and join the Air Force as an officer. Edit: Forgot to say THANK YOU

I’m an apprentice electrician actually. I tried to go to college a few times, but money was always an issue so I unfortunately have no degree. I know there’s some kind of apprenticeship program, though. And I already plan on investing much of money anyway if I can get in. Do you know long it takes to become an officer?

I’m so down for that. I just wanna know if its possible to go in my current physical condition, or would I need to absolutely meet their standards? Because I’m overweight, but I know I’m smart enough to get a good score on the ASVAB. I’m willing to meet the weight requirements if I gotta, since I’m doing it anyway for maintaining my health, but it’ll take a while.

That is true. I wouldn’t want to work in a trade for too long because of the damage it’d do to my body after a while, and I’d be making more money after a while too. I also never mentioned this, but since my father is a veteran (served in Vietnam), I’m fortunate enough to have financial aid through the VA for his service while I’m in college. It lasts until I’m 26, so it’s probably best to use it while I can - I’m 21.

I think I’m gonna go for being an electrician, and then maybe work on school part time in the future. That sounds like the best and most time efficient thing to do right now. In the end, money needs to be made, right? Thanks for the advice!

I really enjoy electrical work. I loved the classes, and booking something up and seeing it turn on after all that work. I really just want a job to live off of, and then save some to invest. My true dream is to be a music producer and writer, but I figured I might as well have a high paying job in the meanwhile. Sounds a bit silly, huh? lol. Well, here’s where I also have trouble making a choice. I’m a licensed electrician apprentice, but have been unable to work as one due to not having a car yet. I could work instead in a restaurant or something and get a car, and be an electrician, move out, then worry about school, if I want to do that. I just turned 21 a few days ago, and it hit me that I had to get out.
