That's your opinion, a simple restraint is my opinion on what was an appropriate action of an officer. I personally saw an idiot assault an officer and then I saw an officer act inappropriate and assault her in return. Somewhere this got confused as acceptable policing by kids today.

He was no longer an officer after he lost his cool and retaliated. Regardless of her actions he didn't act appropriately. There's no Justifying his actions as an officer. There was at least 4 of them, she could have been easily restrained and saw her day in court. It's not the offices job to administer justice as he sees fit.

Are you pretty sure about that, I'd be more concerned if that officer is married. Domestic abuse is pretty common in homes of officers and the way he dished that out surely shows he would do it to his wife as well. People are scary stupid these days.

He is an officer, someone that is supposed to represent the law, and is breaking the law. Police need to be held to standards. In no way am I excusing her actions, but their job was to arrest her, a suitable response would have been to restrain her. Once he hit her back he was a criminal as well. That's not a professional behavior fitting of wearing a badge in normal societies.

Nope, but if I'm representing law enforcement which is only supposed to arrest you and let the courts handle justice, but I decide to illegally act on my own and dish out my own version of vigilante justice, my actions as a police officer should be nullified. Once he punched her back, he was now a criminal and should have been arrested as well. Not one other cop there performed their duty and arrested him for assault.

It doesn't matter what she did, he is an officer and didn't act like one. As far as I'm concerned once he retaliated, he was no longer acting as an officer which should nullify any assualt against an officer charges.
