Yea criminal court is risky. There's too many ways he can get off or get lesser sentences. Money is freedom in America, a financial reparation is a safer and sometimes stronger move. Look at what happened with Michael Jackson and Oj. Except I think The family of the Oj victim benefited more from civil suits than him actually going to prison.
