And if it was a same aged son who accused the mother of doing this? Would you have the same thing results?

But she attempted to play into the common perception that this is what men do, and this does make it a mans issue cause too often men are perceived in negative stereotypes such as this that do no virtues for us as a collective

So if his wife had pulled over instead of the wife to offer a lift, the punishment would be? Well there'd be nothing to speak of in the first place....

What is this? This is moral hazard and taking advantage of the vulnerability of young boys. Shouldn't they have to disclose they are police officers? And what's with the hard sale?

Congrats Qanan, and may I say the current mensrights moderators have in my opinion done a wonderful balancing act- i would never know where to personally begin if i was in their position given the contentious ideas that this subreddit handles.

I think it works both ways, that women and men are conveniently portrayed the way they need to be portrayed the way advertisers deem them to be exported. Nevertheless the idea that men in general are dunces who cant manage without women to solve problems for them is a grab to give women the idea that they really are entitled and self empowered but at the cost of men, as opposed to a gesture of their own abilities and qualities.

Interesting, the victims don't even bother reporting the crimes to authorities because of their lack of faith in authorities to do anything. Can we add also the inherent shame and emasculation that they must be feeling as well?

Hmm. I'd be curious to see a list that went A man becomes a boy when he ... And a woman becomes a girl when she ? But then again this is all so subjective and contingent on context, but yeah there is def duplicitous gender/role behavior inherently implied in these lists

Appalling. Playing on the system's natural leniency to extend the rights of a woman of that over a man. Could you imagine a man being able to make that statement?

Lout- generally derogatory description of someone who doesnt behave according to social standards, commonly used by the Brits and Aussies.

I think he may have left cause of his conscience or just being made to feel guilty but either way it is damning to see that a man's career can be tainted simply by such accusations. It's quite precarious really.

OMG- i haven't laughed so hard in weeks. But I do think the governor was being a bit out of line, he could have found a better retort than condemning this woman's sexuality as I don't think what she was questioning had nothing to do with being manly

I can not ever remember once in my lifetime a woman giving her seat up for me, letting me get on the bus first or urging me to help me carry my heavy shopping bags, but it would break my heart if it happened just once.

Irrespective of the view of the man if he is qualified to be a man then he is qualified to take a stand and Tom Matlack as a publisher should not be dissuaded from publishing those points of views that dont politically ascribe to those views a feminist would prefer to hear. Getting to the heart of issues is negotiating a variety of views, not negotiating similar ideas or insisting publishers only publish those males that are perceived to be sensitive to the feminist cause.

It's not about gay sex. It's about the way men are perceived in relation to their desires for anal sex and that they are predatory instigators where in fact it is often the women who demands and inspires anal sex as opposed to the misperception that men are forcing it down women's throats figuratively speaking.

I think Hugo Schwyzer's portrayal of men as predatory instigators in search of anal sex denies the reality that in most instances women control what gets or doesnt get to happen in the bedroom. To portray men as the hunter who demands to exert dominion and pain is a very bad rap...At least that's what I think...:)

For me what's been interesting is the way this woman callously took this man's letter (whether real or imagined, I can't be sure...) and sent it in to reddit with the express understanding that by making this man's letter public he would be humiliated for what he honestly thought was (admittedly over the top) a letter of his intention. So in essence he gets portrayed as a predator, a stalker. Something that as a man myself I am very wary of being perceived of in society simply cause some men are…

Although this man did cross boundaries by seeking out her email address without having being offered it in the first place, my heart goes out to him cause he fought a mean game and fell off the bandwagon. Her ridiculing him like this in public admittedly funny is in very bad form and serves to negate men as piranhas. I'm sure public sentiment would have been quite different had the situation been reversed.

I see the points you make and I agree, boys are trained survival tactics (i knowing where they are at any moment, how things work, etc) and women how to look pretty and a good catch for the successful male(yikes whatever that means) - but I still do think irrespective of the gender of the pilot they bore a responsibility to shut the engine down completely and insist no one exit until then. It's a matter of precaution and safety. That said I can think of a lot of self entitled males who would have…

I dont think the gender of the pilot should matter, who ever was the pilot should have exercised safety protocol

Are we to infer that men are only to be admired if they are adamant about their rights because this means more often than not they will finish first. Does that mean we should punish men who choose to behave this way or just punish the men who choose not to behave this way...?

The article presents no logical evidence for such findings. Wishful jawboning.

$7.21 an hour huh? I wonder what the women earn? Or am I to assume it would be this man's fault if male employees got one extra burger on the shift than their female counterparts...

Whether this is a reflection of a personal fault on behalf of Mr McIntosh, the conditioning that comes courtesy of a ten year stint in jail, the degenerative aura that comes from visiting an impersonal fast food vendor or simply the unresolved trauma of a man who has somehow confused and armed himself against what he perceives to be a hostile world is up for debate. I'm not convinced gender comes into it, but my gut feeling is there would probably be less seething if the cashier's attackers were…
