| 5 | The gender privilege mythI read something a while ago that said women are more likely to attempt suicide in ways that are a bit more survivable (overdose being one of the big ones) while men are more likely to kill themselves more violently (like with firearms or jumping), but this mightve been anecdotal I did my senior paper on men's issues actually, and according to the National Alliance on Mental Illness, four out of five completed suicides have been confirmed to be men.
