Tbf the term used to refer to feminine men is now just “femboy” because it doesn’t have the inherent association with being dangerous like “trap”

The main issue he seems to ignore is if you just get zero opportunities. I tried and managed to kiss a girl once but a chance like that isn’t going to happen again for me any time soon, so all the advice of how to talk to women once you have their attention is worthless to most guys who struggle. Dating apps and the like have made it such that you are locked out of even approaching women let alone winning them over with your personality (or more likely, manipulative behaviour because being decen…

Yes, men's issues are the final boss of reactionary thought imo

Lower cost of living implies poorer conditions though. Unfortunately that sort of thing tends not to go down.

Both of you missed the point that it is a company being stingy about wages not that people should just be happy to be poorer

Have you heard of Vaush? He’s a relatively popular socialist live-streamer who is surprisingly sympathetic to men’s issues. Self identified feminist, but he’s had friendly conversations with MRAs like Warren Farrell and brings up stuff like the sentencing gap a lot. Also Contrapoints did a good video on men’s issues, pretty much parroting 2014 MRA rhetoric to a full hardcore feminist audience https://youtu.be/S1xxcKCGljY

Not saying the problem isn’t still bad, just that it’s getting less so. I’m thinking it will be a decade at least but the discourse I’ve seen so far in progressive circles has actually given me a lot more hope than expected

My dude the respect for men hasn’t gone down, the sort of shit I’ve seen from ‘70s feminism and beforehand suggests this has been a problem for wayyyyy longer. Ever read any Ernest Belfort Bax? Dude was writing shit a century ago that sounds like he was around last week. I’m convinced the problem is ultimately getting better. I’ve seen more and more mainstream feminists (albeit seemingly dragging by their heels) becoming more open to acknowledging this stuff over time. As for intersectionality i…

I think you vastly overestimate the level of reverence people had for the disposable male cannon fodder of antiquity. None of this is *really* that new. Nor is the misandry actually directed at all men. Rhetorically it is but it has disproportionate targeting on marginalised groups.

Yeah I don’t think that single difference will exactly destroy society.

Nobody but it’s not a civilisation destroying practice. Male disposability is a tale as old as time

Yeah I’ve even seen this point made by a feminist - sexually active men are the biggest cause of violence against women especially if you count the more systemic aspects. This stereotype is really dangerous

Yeah I don’t think you can properly handle the incel problem without also tackling how all the other students react to them.

Yeah this is gonna make it worse and just expose more of them to the ideas in the first place

One of the big problems with the motte and Bailey is that toxic masculinity kinda has two definitions and it’s constantly equivocated. It refers to both the toxic standards men are expected to uphold and also to the behaviours men engage in to attempt to live up to them. So very often feminists will use the term to sound like they’re making a systemic critique and only make a painfully individualist complaint about male behaviour. You see this a lot with “ugh men are their own worse enemy with a…

Mainly you point out that the cat is out of the bag and it’s better to improve men’s lives rather than try to restrict women further

I wonder how many of these sex workers would find the relationships remained if they didn’t withhold sex like women normally do in relationships. They want to do the whole “sex doesn’t mean anything” line until they actually want someone and then suddenly it actually does mean a lot. Women who are incredibly slutty but then actually have a lot of sex with their partners don’t have this problem to the same extent. They just don’t have anything to offer, and when they let on they used to offer at …

Woman is shallow has ridiculous standards and ends up constantly dating men who don’t commit? Shocker
/r/WhereAreAllTheGoodMen12/02/21 11:02 AM

The point is the standard is impossible, so there's always something to whinge at men for. If he gets laid without trying he's probably an asshole, if he's not an asshole he probably struggles to get attention from women. Loses out either way and they can continue to shame him

Well it’s less being masterminds and more extreme compartmentalisation. I can’t see it being particularly easy to go through life completely unaware of how easy it is to use sex and flirting to manipulate men. It’s more a lowkey intuitive understanding that prevents them admitting to it
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates25/08/20 09:29 AM

Feminists are fully aware that men are desperate and lonely and that women’s sexual power is an effective bargaining chip in controlling this, but they’ll market being a woke dude as a way to get laid. However they know they can’t actually do much about changing their own preferences because toxic femininity treats emotions as sacred, so when presented with the fact that doing away with toxic masculinity appears to be have the exact opposite effect to the intended one, they can only pretend that…

I didn't say they're actually doing it, I said they would if given the opportunity. Nor did I say nobody was talking to them because they're "too much emotionally" - I said that women don't appear to generally want the type of man who provides EL

but God, does it actually WORK for men ??? I've tried tinder and not really been sexual about it. Get ghosted every time
/r/PurplePillDebate20/02/20 11:09 PM

The problem is there seems to be two types of "nice guy" women talk about and it's always a motte and bailey. The dude who acts out and starts making threats the minute he's rejected/ghosted, and the guy stuck in the friendzone sad he doesn't get the loving relationship he wants and she claims to want. Women who lead guys on in the friendzone are the female version of fuckbois.

Eh, maybe it's just a case of someone acting out. I think a lot of guys here are just trying to make sense of their bad experiences when much shittier people are doing better than them. If someone then comes around and says "yeah all your worst fears are right, we actually deem you unworthy for stupid irrational reasons and that's why you're miserable. Just git gud scrub" They want to make sense of it but even if those worst biases were to be confirmed it's still not going to feel good. It's sti…

It's not "too much" but this does not negate my observations here. Men here say they want honesty but in a lot of cases, where it is something they do not want to hear, they certainly don't act like it. No they want honesty but it doesn't mean you're going to get praised for it. Honesty is the fucking basic level prerequisite. You can be honest and admit to things people don't like, but you're also going to get criticised for that.

Most men who talk about these subjects just want some honesty it seems. I think also socialisation plays into attraction a lot. It's not as simple as being hard wired.

We exist, nobody seems to want to talk to us tho.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/02/20 02:57 PM

A lot of men would offer that but it's rare that women go for that sort of guy even if he's more accomplished because most of the time he will give it without relationships as a prerequisite.

Made plenty of girls laugh in my time “Comfort” is subjective. I’ve seen plenty of openly threatening men pull girls. If I need to make a girl feel comfortable whatever metric she’s using is not one that makes any sense whatsoever. Honestly 2, 3 and 4 are all the same thing reworded: “make her attracted to you” Women will feel completely comfortable around psychos even my autistic ass can detect, they’ll want attention and validation basically because hot.
