I guess let me clarify. Society doesn't really acknowledge how involved nurses are in the personal care of their patients. They tend to praise the doctor and not really give credit to the nurses who are involved in daily activities. I understand that 5 years of medical school plus being on call 24/7 (for surgeons or certain specialists) is by no means a cake walk.

THIS!! Doctors get too much credit IMO, it's the nurses who are with the patient damn near 24 hours a day. They're the ones doing jobs no one else wants to do, and they're the ones who have to deal with the patients no matter how sick, gross, happy etc. Upvote for nurses!

We're bringing down our own society T.T

This is HORRIBLE! Nurses are the lifeline and aren't given nearly as much credit as they should have for all the things they do. Any scumbag idiot who tries to falsely accuse their male nurse should be prompting kicked out of the hospital. I'm sorry OP nurses get shit on all the time and I want you to know there are people who recognize all your hard work :(

I can only speak from experiences that I have I seen first hand. From what I've seen my grandma do, she and her old feminist friends are trying to combat this type of "man-hating" feminism. It doesn't get publicized and they understand it's a problem and how it undermines their work. All I'm saying is you can't lump everyone into one category where there are the active few who make everyone look bad.

Just because she is well known doesn't mean all feminists agree with her.
/r/MensRights10/06/11 07:16 PM

You're assuming all feminists agree with this woman on everything. That is not the case. Since you know about the feminist movement then clearly you know of the first, second, and third waves of feminism and how they are different. Just because she writes books about their theories doesn't mean all feminists agree with her.

I agree with you. I don't consider radical feminist's just "feminists", they are radical in their thinking and in their actions. Thank you for addressing the different waves of feminism since they have different purposes. It makes me sad to see that feminism has gone from fighting to be equal to people associating feminism with "man haters". This is an issue that people like my grandma are trying to combat and unfortunately their efforts don't get publicized like radical feminists do.

I hear about it all the time..but maybe that's because my grandma is involved with it. It's easy to see feminists as man haters, but really there's a small number of them that are like that. I'll dig and find some articles that call it out directly.

Mainstream feminism loves people who claim that a father kissing his daughter goodnight is sexual? I have no idea what kind of "mainstream feminism" you're talking about, but any "normal feminist" (let alone PERSON) would believe that this woman is clearly dysfunctional.

Be sure not to confuse feminists with radical feminists. My grandma marched with Susan B. Anthony and was a leader in the NOW organization. When she sees other women who call themselves "feminists" and are doing this, it makes her sick. Please don't assume all feminists are like this crazy woman (and I'd be hard pressed to find really any substantial number of people who would agree with that woman >.<)

Absolutely. I just know a few girls who don't think before they do anything and put themselves in bad situations and then act "vulnerable" because they think it's cute. For some people being smart all the time doesn't seem to happen but hopefully thinking about where they are and the people around them will help them decide if they're safe or not.
/r/MensRights10/06/11 04:09 PM

As a woman, I think the best way to be safe is to be SMART. As in, be aware of the people around you. If they make you feel uncomfortable, don't stay in that situation. Also, don't go to parties alone or to parties where you know no one else (seems obvious, since who wants to be alone at a party?) Don't accept drinks from people you don't know (get it yourself) and don't binge drink if your situation isn't safe. It isn't the clothes that cause rape, it's not taking pre-cautions to avoid it in th…

Why do we let these people live?

What a poor excuse for a woman. She seriously needs that much attention that she wants to make REAL victims look bad AND she tried to completely fuck someone over? Fuck that.
/r/MensRights01/06/11 07:45 PM

As a woman, I applaud you for sticking to your guns and creating a positive and nurturing environment for your kids! Hopefully someday the courts will stop being so bias and stop siding with the woman when they clearly shouldn't be taking care of kids at that point in time.

Yeah seems to me like she is putting her children in dangerous situations, and I would find that VERY hard to argue that she should is capable of making good decisions for her kids.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
