I started doing item 2, and 3 a couple months ago. I removed sugar and breads from my diet, and have dropped 30lbs. I'm working on item 1. Thanks for posting.

It's comments like this and you demonstrating that you are a man and the IDGAF attitude, that tells me I can do this too.

It is fucking good to be a man. I'm embracing the IDGAF mentality. I look forward to me learning experience in TRP.

This is a great reminder for me. I'm trying to learn acoustic guitar. Knowing that a 60 year old woman started piano lessons at that age. Basically tell me, man up, stop making excuses, and fulfil my dreams and goals. Thanks for your post.

You're welcome... I took a little shit for posting. I know I need to read, study, lift and get it back together, and all that will come in time. I wanted to share my story, simply for the reason you stated. If it helps one person from traveling down the same road I travelled, then I will consider my posting a success. Thanks again for your feedback.

I've found advice to be like a plate of cookies. Sometimes people will be interested, sometimes not. As far as some of the "iconic" movies from my era and what the "american society" thought of them at the time, I can only relate to the demographic area that I was confined to. Back in my time, we didn't have the internet, or cell phones, no FB or social media, no Reddit. I received most my news from 5 TV stations we had access to, a landline phone and the local newspaper that was delivered to ou…

For me? And of course hindsight is 20/20. - Don't get married. At least not until you've accomplished what you've set out to do. It's like the Eminem song- Superman [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H8-5fYHuSrM] If religion is your thing, learn to question authority, and know that they too are pushing their own agenda. My marriage at 19 was based on guilt, responsibility, and the BluePill Theory. Associate yourself with people you want to become like. Do not settle for mediocrity or the naysayers…

I'll admit, I probably do take shit too seriously, especially since I have not met her. It's tough to distinguish playfulness in texts, especially if emoticons are left out. My other issue is with the word "Expectations". Right before my divorce, I was handed a handwritten, two page letter, with the heading "What I Expect From You" from my ex. Sometimes, certain words or situations, are just tough to overcome. Edited.

You're right! I should and will be more responsible for my own actions. I can see that allowing myself to be an orbiter, just plays into her game and not mine. I am the one that has to determine for myself how much value I place in the relationship. If I'm not happy with the outcome, then you're right, I should bail. Doing this will build my self confidence more.

This happens often with women in my age group, 40's-50's. Especially, if they have kids. They are totally cool with having sex, but don't get too emotionally attached. They most likely have several "walls" to self protect or they do not want you interacting with their kids. Don't take it personally, just understand their game for what it is.

Thank you for this advice. I replied back with her with the following: "Possibly. Depends what set plans I have." Of course she replied with: "No worries. If you are busy it's all good." I did not respond back and probably wont. Definitely won't go pick paint and carpet now.

I agree. It's almost getting to the point that you need to start recording interactions, getting written consent upfront, or wearing a damn body cam during the deed.

I got married in my early twenties. During the early stages of our relationship I was told by her that she was a "virgin". After a couple of weeks of doing the deed, she later confessed that she wasn't a virgin and was actually "raped" by her LTR in high school. They dated for over a year. Fast forward 15+ years later, 5 kids - she starts to have an "emotional affair" with her old high school boyfriend, who by the way, is in prison on a child molestation charge. After some major blowups, she the…

This is a good point. For me is simply boils down to being a extrovert or introvert. Being introvert doesn't allow me to explore the world and keeps me in my comfort zone. It also leads to isolation.

I ran into that same issue with a couple of them. You just have to understand that they have went through their own programming, or deprogramming and have allowed themselves to become a Beta. Don't get me wrong, counselors are schooled in being able to decipher through all the bullshit, read body language, and filter through the masking of what people are telling them. But, what I've found is that the common mentality is to help resolve and work out immediate needs and conflict resolution. Most …

This makes me laugh and brings back some flash backs. I was a navy brat, and when my step dad left for 6 months at a time on Westpac cruises, some of the male neighbors would come over, but they were just "friends". ;) ---- LMAO.... TPR sure has opened my eyes to a few things.

I understand what you're saying, I'm in the same boat. And what I mean by that is all the same health issues you list with the toxic parent. I'm middle aged and suffered some serious setbacks, to the point I was a big Alpha, owned my own company, made bank, then lost it all, including my family. I've been diagnosed with major depressive disorder, PTSD, ADHD, etc. I've lost 10 years of my life to these excuses. It wasn't until recently that I came across TRP and started to realize just how much o…

There are some good uses for having a whole life insurance policy. However, in this case you may be correct if more information was known about the situation and the financial ramifications for not having it.

A couple questions I would ask myself before cancelling the policy are: * Who is the owner of the policy? * Is this a term, universal life, or whole life insurance policy? * Has it accumulated any cash value or has the ability to? * Do I expect to have any major health issues in the future that could disqualify me from getting life insurance in the future? If you are not the owner of the policy, and just the insured- this would be an issue for me. If I decided to keep the policy and pay the prem…

I've experienced this same situation in some of my past relationships. My only experience is that I've dated "religious" women who are LDS. Some women are taught from a young age to no have sex till they are "married", if they do, then the only way to resolve their guilt is to entrap you into a LTR. I know, because I went down this path and it resulted in 17 years of living hell, plus 5 kids. The only thing I have to show from this relationship is the monthly child support payments. You want my …

I think this is the one you're talking about [https://redd.it/3m2xi1] - Rationing yourself out? Which by the way, is a great article. I'm in sales myself, and this methodology has some great sales tactics in it. I hadn't realized that I could apply this to my personal life and relationships. Thanks for the pointer.

I would agree completely with this short statement. I have actually been through two divorces. Both times we went to marriage counseling. I can assure you that this is a successful way to deprogram you and turn you into a "Beta". I do agree with counseling to some extent, however be selective on what type of doctor you are seeing and make sure that you masculinity and dignity stays intact.
