To be fair, the "bumbling idiot buffoon" archtype is everywhere in real life. I grew up with a buffoon dad. I have loads of friends with buffoon dads. It's not that our dads are actually stupid or incompetent, it's that being married to a condescending bitch destroys your sense of self and it makes you outwardly act dumb all the time. I feel you. Reading a lot of these comments makes me wonder if the guys writing them have any practical field knowledge or if they're simply applying RP theory and "absolute truths" to a perceived dilemma. I never finished college, but I can speak for my age group. At 25 it's bleak. Most girls my age (that I know of) graduated college with useless degrees in behavioral science and nutrition, shit like that, and never got jobs in their field.
