I'm not disputing anything you're saying. As far as I can tell, it's manifestly true. But does it ever seem to you that it reduces us to so many slavering dogs fighting over scraps of meat? What is the point of having a higher form of consciousness if we still behave as any animal would?

I get what you're saying. I do. But when you're taught to eat like a fatass by your parents from the moment you can eat solid food, it is a difficult process to realign the bits of your brain that have grown accustomed to a constant diet of fat, carbs, and salt. Most of the people I know who are or have been fat, including me, first got fat in their preteen or teenage years and kept up their eating habits in adulthood. Many fit people are the same way; they are taught to eat healthily and to exe…

As someone who is just now getting into shape - 40 pounds down today - I can understand to a degree. I was never anywhere near the bigger guys in this picture, but fatness sort of creeps up on you. You learn to eat a certain way and continue doing that, and then one day you look up and you're 50 pounds heavier. The problem is that getting fat is a vicious circle. First, you're lazy, so you eat junk food, and then you get fatter, which makes you more tired and lazy, so you eat more junk food, etc…

It isn't a double standard. Feminists view classical femininity and "old-fashioned women" as the height of evil, the exemplar of the patriarchy. There is no one more hated by the feminist hive mind that a woman who refuses to toe the party line. To them, a woman's being old-fashioned is merely an example of "internalized misogyny," and a woman who commits such a sin is even more at fault than a man, because she is seen as a traitor to the sisterhood. For all their talk of "choice" and "letting w…

Has she ever weighed in on all this non-sense? I wouldn't blame her for not wanting to jump into the middle of all the mud being slung around. I wouldn't, either, but that's the problem. Only the extremists get involved in this bullshit discussion, because everyone else realizes that it is bullshit. As a result, the whole conversation just gets crazier and crazier and crazier.

I"m not sure if you realize it, but "nice guy" is almost a technical term in this subreddit. It doesn't mean simply being an all-around decent guy, but to be the kind of weak, pandering, desperately frustrated guy who always puts women on pedestals, yet still manages to be a passive-aggressive little shit about everything to do with them. They are the ultimate in pathetic beta behavior.

As someone raised in the fairly affluent South, this has been my experience, too. I spent my early life being indoctrinated in a code of how to treat both other men and women. I was taught both by my parents and by three years of cotillion, a pretentious Southern tradition which involves learning to eat properly (a useful skill) and to dance in styles last fashionable during the Wilson administration (somewhat less useful). It was only once I went to college up north that I realized how obsolete…

Rather than trying to brainwash yourself into believing something that is manifestly false, I'd recommend building up other areas of your SMV. Are you in shape? Do you dress well? What kind of quality male friends do you have, and how many? How's your financial situation? What kind of hobbies do you have and how good are you at them? How confident are you in your ability to speak to others, particularly women? It's pretty much impossible to bullshit yourself completely, so if you don't have a tr…

Imagine this story: Child killed by drunk driver. If the driver was horribly disfigured by this, would you feel sorry for him, or would you be angry at him for being selfish and stupid? Do you not agree that one can feel both ways? Of course I would be angry at him for making such an idiotic and costly decision. I would also feel much more sympathy for the child and the family. I would probably feel that he deserved what he got as repayment for what he took from them. At the same time, I would f…

The Universe isn't "fair". Of course it isn't fair. It is an amoral, unthinking entity governed entirely by the immutable laws of physics. We human beings, on the other hand, do have a moral sense and an instinctual empathy for others of our kind, or at least most of us do. Condemning them harshly might just stop people from doing them in the future, instead of teenagers seeing themselves as young and innocent humans who shit like this can't happen to. Women value height, a V-shaped torso (which entails broad shoulders and a trim waist), lean muscle, and symmetrical facial features. Those are the things that attract them to men more than anything else. Basically, it's just guys who care about huge biceps and shit. Now, if you want to be ripped because that's what you want, that's fine. But if you're going for maximum physical attractiveness, then don't go too crazy. Source: Wikipedia on physical attractiveness

As a fellow INTJ (or ENTJ; who the hell knows?) I had a similar experience. Once I started to see emotions, storytelling, and other social tools as what they are - tools - I had a much easier time of things. Even if it does involve irritating, inefficient things like feelings and human beings, it is still a system with a certain perverse logic to it. And we NTJs excel at manipulating systems.

This already happens. I can't even count the number of times that I've seen someone criticize Obama's policies or government, only for someone else to immediately accuse him of racism. Think Obama has been weak on Syria, Ukraine, or ISIS? Racist. Think his response to Ebola is too tepid? Racist. Think his obvious pandering during his recent stump speeches is pathetic? Filthy, hateful racist. I can't imagine how bad it will get with Clinton.

In many cases, "egalitarian" is a byword for "anti-male." The argument goes that men are in a naturally superior position in society, so women need to be raised up to make it more egalitarian, never mind the laws that blatantly favor women over men. I've never been to or studied the Netherlands, but in America, "equal" tends to translate as "pro-women."

Wow. This is probably the most teenage response I've seen here. First step: grow a little bit thicker skin and learn the difference between constructive criticism and "constructionless" insults. If you are getting rejected enough to warrant a post here, then there is a root problem that you aren't addressing: either you're awkward, you're too thirsty, or you're somehow unattractive. As a fairly big, bearded guy with "chronic asshole face," I've been told several times that I make an intimidating first impression. Frankly, I've always seen it as a benefit. As long as it's you doing the approaching, the nervousness that you create in the girl should make you more attractive to her, as long as you don't overdo it. Plus, if you tilt farther toward the "cocky-funny" side of things and farther from the "straight-up asshole" side, you get some of the Mr. Juxtaposition effect.

You're setting up a false dichotomy between "people who question everything" and "religious people." I've spent most of my life questioning my faith, yet I always come back to it in the end. The fact that someone comes to a different conclusion than you do does not, in itself, make them wrong.

Here is the problem: American women are among the best informed and most self-determining human beings in the world. To say that they are manipulated into their life choices by forces beyond their control is divorced from reality and demeaning, to boot. Holy shit. I can't believe that got printed. It's not even limited to just game. Holding frame is, as far as I can tell, the key to any kind of social power whatsoever. Over the past few months, I've been amazed at just how far you can get with a firm resolve and a refusal to accept other people's versions of reality.

If you're uncomfortable being groped, slap their hand away and yell "What the fuck are you doing?" to shame them. Yeah, but the problem with modern culture is that it is absolutely terrified of any form of confrontation. Rather than face a problem directly, most people these days would rather construct an absurd, Rude Golbergian system to avoid it. I hate to think what will happen when one of the rising powers decides to start a war.

If you're not prepared to change your life in any significant way, then you're going to keep having the same kind of life. It's axiomatic. MFA is actually not bad if you filter for more masculine styles. Scroll through the WAYWT threads and you should find some ideas. The thing about laws against hate crime is that they don't seem to work. Racist / anti-immigrant / neo-Nazi groups are quite popular in the various European countries that have such laws, despite the fact that they have to state their goals in terms designed to avoid them. Parties such as the anti-immigrant National Front in France (24 of 74 MEPs, 25% of the vote), the neo-Nazi Golden Dawn in Greece (3 of 21 MEPs, 7% of the vote), and the Danish People's Party (4 of 13 MEPs, 27% of the vote) all…

Please take screenshots of Gawker sites. Don't give them views. Patricia Hernandez is a hack and always has been. Every time any issue even vaguely connected to women, feminism, minorities, "rape culture", etc, comes up, she finds a way to concoct some SJW clickbait article out of it. Even her fellow feminists in gaming think she's an idiot. I'm not really sure what would satisfy people like Hernandez or those in the comments other than everyone's exchanging written consent forms prior to any in…

The one who cares the less in a relationship is the one actually in control This goes for anything, not just relationships. In any negotiation, the party that's most willing or able to walk away is the one with the most power.

What I don't get about this line of thinking is who they imagine is going to look after the children. If both parents are expected to work, then are all children simply to be raised by day care attendants? I know that kids are raised that way, and I'm sure that decent people come out of that situation. As someone who was raised by a stay-at-home mom, though, I can't imagine it.

This happens a lot with people who aren't used to debates. They tend to assume that they know what you're arguing for and attack that, rather than actually hearing what you're saying. His first comment sounds as if he thinks that women shouldn't work at all, and even though he clarified himself more than once afterward, she latched onto that thought and wouldn't be diverted. I hope that's what happened, at least. The only alternative is that she really does think that it's sexist for a man to sa…

The issue isn't groups' pushing women into STEM fields. It's that a lot of feminist individuals and organizations look down on women who go into traditionally female careers. I have met many feminists and read even more online who sneer at women who become teachers, nurses, counselors, and homemakers. There's nothing wrong with wanting more women in STEM, and if a woman wants to become a scientist or engineer, more power to her. The problem comes in when feminists as a group start to despise wom…

Exactly. It's the same principle that makes five-paragraph essays terrible. Apart from the fact that most school-age children can't write for crap, the enforced length and format all but forces them to write unnaturally.

I've noticed that myself. At 24, I'm starting to agree more and more with my father's opinions and dropping a lot of the liberal idealism that I had in high school and college. I'm still definitely more liberal than he is - I believe in some form of social safety net, for example - but fourteen-year-old me would be appalled by my "callousness" and "convention."

That the correct way to get someone to do something for you is to demand and assume compliance and entitlement? In all fairness, I've often found that this method is the most effective for getting people to do what you need them to. Simply assume that they will do as you ask, and most people will pick up on it. Still, there's no reason to be rude about it. And if you've raised your kid with any sort of decency and empathy they will help without it being demanded or forced, i know i certainly did…

Exactly. People simply refuse to face reality. For example, I'm legally blind, and I once had a conversation with another legally blind person who persisted in calling himself "differently-abled," rather than disabled. He insisted, against my fervent objections, that our condition was not an objective physical defect, but rather a different way of experiencing the world. Finally, I got fed up with him and asked, "So, if your doctor came to you and said that they'd just found a cure for your blin…

Fucking this. Since I first found TRP a couple of weeks ago, I haven't even started to put any of the "game" stuff into practice yet; I live in the middle of the middle of nowhere and have to arrange transportation to anywhere with women under 75. Even so, the resources I've found here have already markedly improved my life. Just in the past two weeks, I've helped two friends see their relationship problems in a new light, been more assertive with my doctor, gotten my exercise regimen back on tr…

I had to go to see my doctor the other day, and I was watching one of those "we come to your house and redecorate it" shows in the waiting room. It immediately struck me how both the wife and the (all-female) cast completely ignored the husband's ideas. I've only been reading TRP for a couple of weeks now, and it really surprised me how something that I wouldn't have even noticed before was now so obvious and irritating.

It's amusing that even in the title, he has to insist that he is, in fact, male. The fact that a guy would employ phrases such as "bad news bears" and "fall the freak apart" is just revolting. For God's sake, stop speaking like a child. His voice. His weedy, simpering, feminine voice. UGH.

It's important to hold women in high regard, so you appreciate how good it is being in a relationship. I know you're coming from a good place on this, but here's the thing. Part of RP philosophy is that, contrary to popular thought, men are the natural romantics and women the natural pragmatists. We men want the unicorn, the Manic Pixie Dream Girl, the woman who will love us in the unbridled, uninhibited, unconditional way that we love them. The things is...they don't exist. Women's attraction -…

You would really do better to read some of the content linked in the sidebar. I have none of the anger against women that some of the people on this sub do, but I can see the logic in the mindset. The point of RP is not simply to "have sex with girls," although that is an enjoyable benefit. The idea is that men should take control of their lives, work continuously for self-improvement, cultivate strong male friendships, and be the leaders in their relations with women. As far as dating goes, RP …

It's not just his last one. A couple of his other points come off pretty beta, too. Don't complain, don't criticize, don't mock ANYONE unless she does first. I guess that I can see the intent of this idea, but it really does sound as if you're handing your frame over completely to the girl. Don't be a sex pest. The information in this point is actually pretty good; typical RP "escalate quickly, then back off" fare. The way he phrases it, though...ugh... The whole post comes off as very woman-cen…

The very first sentence of his second point completely contradicts the last half of his first. He goes on an on about how only women, orbiters, and "closet homos" (Really?) debate ideas, then praises the value of manly discussion in the very next breath. Besides, debating ideas in order to find the best ones is a manly tradition going back to the earliest days of civilization. Again, you're conflating two ideas: intelligence and knowledge. They're not the same thing. The mechanic who knows the service manuals for a dozen different models of automobile by heart, yet hits a wall when asked to solve a problem that isn't covered in those books, is knowledgeable but unintelligent. By contrast, the first grade prodigy who seems to absorb new material through his skin is intelligent, but not (yet) knowledgeable. You, like most well-adjusted people, became both more knowledge…

Smart != experienced. Raw intelligence is a function of genetics and early childhood development, whereas experience is simply the acquisition and application of more information over time. There's a beautiful conversation down in the comments, wherein a "sex-positive" male feminist tries to argue that one can be both a stripper and a feminist. A choice quote: Objectification elimination is a new secondary goal of feminism. The primary goal is equality. No matter how hard you try, you cannot change the way that you are viewed. However, you can and should recieve equal treatment regardless of how others view you. Translation: "Women should be able to do whatever they want, including…

It's not just feminist logic. It's the logic of racism, xenophobia, and every kind of prejudice, including sexism. Even these morons know there isn't any logic behind their arguments, so they use flashy words and convoluted phrasing to get past the executive part of the brain.
