You only know “sluts” and “nerds”? None who are “good overall” as the OP said? Damn, sorry for you

Sounds like you need to change up your circle

It's because What's because? I don't understand this as a stand-alone response to the OP.

But the observation about female abundance mentality suggests that there are “homeless” females demanding $100 bills too. I think your idea of abundance mentality is pretty similar to mine.

I’m surprised this changed your mind. Surely the original thought for your idea was the observation that seemingly low value women (a homeless woman in keeping with the example) have the confidence (abundance mentality) to Next guys and your thought was well why don’t we men do that too to even the playing field and obtain better outcomes through solidarity? Of course you can’t play hardball successfully if your bargaining position is very weak and this is obvious to your female counterparty. I …

Ok you sound like you have a hot soup of ideas sloshing around in your head about politics, society and history, not gonna touch that… good day!

Holy reductive generalizations! This doesn’t ring true at all. This sub is so addicted to the women good/men bad dichotomy

You obviously haven’t been to Scandinavia. 80% would be conservative

Whatever. “Women are just gold diggers who tolerate sex”. Good luck in life if you’re planning to die on that hill

Another bad energy toxic red pill thread? This sub continues to confuse me.

Based on this thread, I think we can tell who is red pill and who is blue pill by how they each describe the other.

Yeah basically. That’s why I was confused. I was like, ok in what way is “Purple” different from red if this is getting posted?

I’m relatively new to this sub, but is this seriously the level of discourse that I can expect? Mods were very quick to take down a post of mine because it was flaired wrong (apparently) but this rubbish gets through? Weird place

Ok …and? What does your comment mean? Have you removed this post?

Well yeah, body positivity and railing against the “unrealistic body standards” women face hasn’t actually changed men’s preferences - but it has created/imposed a social cost on men for those preferences (where no such cost existed before). Men should advocate for that cost to be applied in the opposite direction as well.

Love goggles are different tho. Overlooking flaws is not the same as noting flaws but growing to love them. I agree with OP that men generally don’t find flaws they’ve noted in women endearing over time

I mean, you could make this kind of response (if you dared) to any number of gripes raised by women. Imagine dismissing a woman's concerns as her "fantasy war with men"

I see the point you're making kind of smugly, but to be more charitable it is a bit of a chicken/egg problem that's as old as the sexes themselves.

Can you put a few more words on the ways in which, historically, women have betrayed and the ways in which men have trusted? And how could men reciprocate betrayal in this context?

Your comment reminded me of this thing I've been thinking about: a model of gender differences in Micro vs Macro Solidarity (or "allegiance" as you put it). By Micro Solidarity, I mean a person's propensity to feel solidarity with (as opposed to cut-throat competition) members of their own sex on an interpersonal level, i.e. in a group of friends etc. By Macro Solidarity, I mean a person's propensity to feel that same solidarity with members of their own sex on a society-wide level, i.e. when th…

The response "men are trash" Yeah, I'm not sure zeroing in on that gives the impression that you've taken my comment in good faith. I guess I wonder how it would go over to give a "both sides experience this, let's not compare" response to a post by a woman complaining about, oh I don't know, any of the following off the top of my head: - No good men - Men don't lift their weight enough - Mansplaining - Bumping up against the limitations of gender role expectations

You’re right of course, but I think what gets up some people’s (men’s) nose is that this nuanced, balanced view isn’t also taken when it comes to a “complaint” that women have about the way the world is. It’s a failure of the dialogue - this perception that men’s grievances are minimized or dismissed while women’s are amplified or prioritized. It feels a bit like: Men: Dating really sucks for us at the moment Response: Hold on now; it sucks for everyone, it’s not very productive to compete as to…

Don't agree. He stayed calm. He put himself between his girl and the pack. He kept in on a leash until really provoked and even then it was restrained and self-defensive. Got his girl in the car, safe. Props to him.

No probs man. I thought you might ask that follow up. Look, I get that you don't feel you can make overt sexual overtures towards her in front of all your friends. But I'm also assuming from your original post that she's into you and that – really – she's simply waiting for you to engineer a situation in which to sexualise the relationship between you. She's expecting it. She's waiting for you to make it happen. That's why I think it's important that you isolate her during one of your nights out…

I'm a noob, so take my advice with a grain of salt. Reading your situation, it sounds like you have a really organic bond of attraction developing with this girl as a result of you being a fun, awesome person. My worry for you is that texting her during the week to organise a formal lunch "date" might have the effect of applying the brakes to this developing relationship. Ie, it might scare her off or come across as unnatural. You should pay attention to the milieu in which your relationship wit…
