Freedom of speech in my country does allow me to insult anyone, including cops, without police retribution, although there is a limit to that freedom that may end up being decided by cops and/or in court. I find it heinous to allow someone with an increased position of power and authority like a cop to more easily abuse their power by forbidding such free speech.
