It is a challenging and ongoing question. Due to the fact that most sexual assault is unreported (against men or against women,) it's dubious that we'll ever find solid numbers here. Thus attempting a "by-the-books" splitting of fund based on need would probably give whoever did the deciding plenty of leeway to favor whichever social group they already sympathized with.

Guys this lady is obviously psycho AF, but that isn't the problem. Even people who have opinions that you disagree with should get a platform, that's why social media's banning of Info Wars was wrong, regardless if you agreed Alex Jones (and no one did, at least not until just recently.) The real problem is how Buzzfeed holds a prominent position in the minds of people, especially young people. They sustain their existence by cooking up click-bait articles, such as the one above. We do not claim that this is oppression, merely an artifact of evolution (both biological and social). We also do not claim that feminists caused this. With this point, as with others, the respondent, who is well-meaning in his attempts to explain, speaks for some but not all of us.

To the inevitable claim that poverty causes gun violence, I responded that if students really believed in that causation, they should be concerned that mass low-skilled immigration was driving down wages for the American poor. That provoked a new chant: “Say it loud! Say it clear! Immigrants are welcome here.” Faustian.

That's a smart question. For a smart answer, you need to read The Second Sexism, by David Benatar. The well-meaning responses of the good-old-boys here won't get deep enough into the issue.

I agree that lack of fatherly influence shouldn't be an excuse for not talking to girls, but fatherlessness is actually a serious problem, especially with inner city youth. Young men growing up without a father (usually because they have been incarcerated, at least in the case of big cities or immigrants) are more likely to commit robbery and violent crime. Taking the problem of fatherlessness seriously is in all our benefits.

When I was growing up I went to a "Gifted Program," staffed by all the hand-picked best teachers in the whole region. Who do you think were the best teachers? The female teachers were awesome too, but the most important thing was that the male teachers acknowledged that boys tend to be boisterous, destructive and defiant. Rather than stamp these qualities out, they helped me direct my energy to more useful things. Bless the underappreciated male teachers of the world.

Saying men are frightened is innacurate. As George RR Martin said, "The only time a man can be brave is when he's afraid." This implies that all a man needs to do to overcome the stigma of #MeToo is be brave. That is not correct. What is correct is the following, For men, flirting is now a huge liability. In a workplace, as long as you strictly avoid flirting (and follow the Pence rule), you protect yourself most effectively from unfounded accusations of sexual harassment. The more successful th…

For a man, the pain caused by being sexually assaulted by another man as is related to a sense of being strong and independent as it is to the actual act of violation. Men exist in a constant evolutionary stalemate with other men. There is an understanding that, while we cooperate when necessary, each man will defend his territory, to the death, if necessary. When a man fails to do so, regardless if he was assaulted or drugged or 1 million more logical reasons why the blame does not lay with him…
