First of all: congratulations!!! Now, I'm sure some women will tell you that it's going to pass once the first trimester is over (and I know that it does in fact get better for many) but I can only give an advice from my perspective. I'm currently 33 weeks pregnant and my libido hasn't returned yet. My husband knows that I'm not wildly sexual at the moment but we do our best to schedule "dates" during the week; neither him nor I see it as pity sex cause it's not.. I see sex as bonding experience…

You’re right, I’ve also been thinking about doubling some of the meals I make and freezing them just so I have them ready when I really don’t feel like cooking. Thank you!

Unfortunately we live in a different state than my hubby’s family or our friends and even further from my family (Europe)… I feel like that makes it a little bit harder on me both mentally and physically. Thank you for your comment!

Thank you so much! I feel the same about the lack of understanding but thankfully many women I speak to do understand and are very helpful, such as all of you in this thread!

Thank you so much! I’ve always been very much into pilates and I think I’ll continue with gentle exercises throughout the pregnancy. I’ve also been walking our puppy everyday even if it’s for 15 minutes, it helps me alot with headaches. About walking the puppy – we spoke about it with my husband yesterday and we decided we will look into a day or two a week of daycare for him so he can play with other puppies and I get some time to spend on either relaxing or doing things around the house.

And one more thing: most recipes serve 4 people (but it’s best to check that everytime.) When I lived alone I’d usually divide it in half and eat the same thing either both for lunch and dinner or for two days in a row. It was usually more affordable.

I think you can start with just asking yourself what types of cuisine you like the most and which restaurants you usually order from. Then after you identify what your taste is I’d look into simple meals from that cuisine – that way you’ll probably enjoy it a little bit more and not get discouraged. I really like this site for simple meals recipes: https://www.lecremedelacrumb.com Many of them don’t require loads of ingredients which I think is a big plus when you’re just starting to get into co…

Meal planning helps a lot with that. I plan meals for a week – breakfasts, lunches and dinners, one note with meals and another with a grocery list. Then after I bring everything home I only schedule what to eat when so we don’t waste any food or money. I also always have some staples in my pantry and a freezer: all the ingredients to make bread, different types of pasta, some frozen meat and veggies (not much though), that way there is always something to eat at home.

I’m exactly the same; my fiancé and I are getting married soon and to be honest I’ve never felt happier – I make him meals, bake bread and pastries, our home is always clean and everything’s always set up for the weekend so we can spend quality time together. I would never trade it for anything and I couldn’t be more grateful. It was a very unexpected transition for me though so I was kind of expecting it to be harder but it turned out to be one of the biggest blessings I’ve ever been given. Hob…
