They deal with the same individuals on a regular basis and often are familiar with the couple before they even arrive at the scene. Its just their personal anecdotes, but they claim it happens all the time. I'm sure there are stats out there somewhere. Ask any law enforcement officer that does patrol and the vast majority of cases they have a very difficult time getting the woman to actually press charges against her abuser.
