Red flag for what? That he likes sex?

Well, I obviously can't say the subjective part of this reply is wrong. But the part with numbers in it, like I said in my first comment, I think that women in particular would have to actively be avoiding sex to have the stats we're supposed to think are acceptable (assuming they're decent-looking, averagely-sociable, live in a city, have been to university, all the usual asterisks).

Was your number actually that low at that age?

So 20 is high? That's the significance of the 20 in the question? I was wondering; saw it and didn't know what the OP was trying to ask. I wish these people who say that numbers are big would say what they want a normal number to be. I think the reason they never do is they know their idea works out to one new partner per year or something ridiculous.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/04/20 10:28 AM

ok so
/r/seduction23/04/20 04:53 PM

And if you believe you will, then you still won't, because of the current situation. If you're trying to imply you have some strategies for hooking up during this time, just say what they are.

"Just hope to bump into a girl in your day-to-day life" is literally the advice of AFCs who have sex with fewer than 10 women in their entire lives and have six-month interstitial periods between each woman. You need to cold-approach.

IIRC something like 30% of teenagers are more competent about day-to-day tasks than the average adult (and I wouldn't be surprised if 90% of that was girls). You're just being prejudiced, as almost everyone is on this matter.

The only real proposition with a "I'm saying one thing but you know and I know that what I'm actually talking about is a sexual advance, answer yes or no accordingly" vibe is your place or her place. Getting a drink definitely doesn't have that, even less a coffee. https://www.quora.com/How-do-I-ask-someone-to-coffee-without-sounding-like-I-am-asking-for-a-date https://www.quora.com/What-is-the-best-way-to-ask-someone-out-for-coffee-platonically https://www.quora.com/How-do-you-politely-turn-dow…

I mean a cold approach is clearly a sex thing straight from the start -- regardless of where you go with it or whether it even went well enough to get to sitting down for a drink -- unless you start into asking for directions straight away or something.
/r/seduction21/11/19 05:12 PM
1

So how do you know it's a date? Initially you were saying that people meet strangers for coffee just to talk to someone...
/r/seduction21/11/19 05:08 PM
1

Is there anything else with the same connotation as the famous coffee date though? You can't deny that that would obviously help in the matter.
/r/seduction21/11/19 05:02 PM
1

Getting to know each other, building attraction... You have to know this. Of course a date doesn't automatically equal sex. I'm not sure why you need to bring that up. It's still one of the usual steps in a seduction though. You have to be aware of that too.
/r/seduction21/11/19 05:01 PM
1

Coffee equals sex? That's a bit of a strawman. It's a clear attempt at a sexual advance though. You wouldn't bring someone on an instant date if you weren't interested in them.
/r/seduction21/11/19 04:58 PM
1

I'm in the library right now. In your mind, if I walked up to the guy at the next desk (when I've never seen him before in my life) and asked him if he wants to go grab a drink together, that would be a normal everyday thing to happen?
/r/seduction21/11/19 04:55 PM

/r/seduction21/11/19 04:43 PM

I thought advancing sexually was the whole point of a date?
/r/seduction21/11/19 04:41 PM

Also pulling a girl all the way out of the city for an instant date doesn't seem very realistic.
/r/seduction21/11/19 04:35 PM
1

What culture are you from where if a man meets a woman through cold approach and suggests sitting down for coffee, she thinks he's just being sociable?
/r/seduction21/11/19 04:34 PM
1

Are you American? Americans seem to think it's normal to just go up to strangers and talk to them just to talk to them. Anywhere else, if you're taking an hour out of someone's day, you're bound to have had something specific in mind.
/r/seduction21/11/19 04:22 PM
1

So has it literally happened to you that you've invited a girl, that you met from cold approach, on a coffee/tea date and she actually believed you just wanted to talk to her? You shouldnt be approaching such mentally-challenged women tbh.
/r/seduction21/11/19 04:14 PM
1

I'm asking for date locations that are viable.
/r/seduction21/11/19 04:09 PM

Implausible. Who does that? Just goes up to someone on the street and arranges to get to know them the next day? Of course it's sexual, especially for a woman. They aren't that naive.
/r/seduction21/11/19 04:06 PM

So how do they interpret it?
/r/seduction21/11/19 04:02 PM

I don't have internet at home, or a sofa.
/r/seduction21/11/19 03:59 PM

How else could asking a girl you've just met for a coffee possibly be interpreted? Of course it's a sex thing.
/r/seduction21/11/19 03:57 PM

I'd rather endure a disgusting drink than dance. But I'd prefer to avoid both.
/r/seduction21/11/19 03:50 PM

See my reply to the other guy
/r/seduction21/11/19 03:45 PM

None of those have the "I'm saying one thing but you know and I know that what I'm actually talking about is a sexual advance, answer yes or no accordingly" thing that "let's meet for a coffee" does. Exacty what I'm asking for is what does.
/r/seduction21/11/19 03:39 PM

Yeah but is going into a venue just to grab a coke something that people really do? And is it not weird for her if she wants to drink and I just want a coke?

/r/seduction16/11/19 02:35 PM

Why is it harder? Their guard isn't up, you don't need 'AMOG' tactics, you don't need to socialise with 50 people. I thought half the appeal of daygame in the first place was its perceived relative easiness.
/r/seduction16/11/19 02:20 PM
1

the unusual awkwardness of "why I stopped you" If you think that that is unusual then your advice is obviously very specific to your culture and useless anywhere else, because making sure (verbally or otherwise) that the stranger knows you have an honest reason to be talking to them is the first thing in any first contact between strangers, 'HB' or not. You can't just go up to someone and start talking to them without their permission.
/r/seduction14/11/19 09:28 PM
1

You go up to people and be all "hi, talking to strangers is weird and all, in this case it's okay because it's practice, I'm honing my skills"? How do they respond?
/r/seduction14/11/19 09:13 PM

You should be interacting with everyone all the time in the same way. I should be doing daygamer stops on random dudes? What would I even talk to them about? I mean the first words out of your mouth in any form of daygame is about how you realise this isn't the done thing.
/r/seduction14/11/19 06:44 PM

The thing is, I can speak to old ladies and low smv dudes, and old men. I can do this anywhere and it's easy. I had an old dude happy af when I spoke to him, and old lady pumped when I said bye, and a few low smv dudes seeking my validation in interactions because I had no issue speaking to them. Are you American? I can't imagine what your premise for talking to people you don't want something from could possibly be.
/r/seduction14/11/19 06:34 PM

Be interested in them. Not new information to anyone; it's at least as old as How to Win Friends and Influence People. What needs to be explained is how to be interested in people when you're an introvert, or else it's "be happy then" (to a person suffering from clinical depression")-tier advice.
/r/seduction14/11/19 06:20 PM

Doesn't James Marshall himself have a video saying that two strangers meeting is inherently awkward?

Different guy here but for me it's always been: a person is an extrovert to the extent that they get lonely from being left alone, find talking as an end in itself worthwhile, etc, and an introvert is the opposite of that. It's just more useful than the "how you get your energy" definition which doesn't tell you all that much about a person. Edit: And so I'm definitely sick of hearing that introverts are somehow superior at conversation.

What's way too much?
/r/seduction10/11/19 02:14 PM

A girl that a daygamer is liable to go for (non-religious, lives in a city, middle-class, good-looking) will get to double digits without even being slutty, unless she for some reason is actively trying to avoid sex, so no, don't say fucking 2, Jesus Christ

/r/seduction02/11/19 03:22 PM

I don't get how you can just assume everybody has a "passion". Do even most people, let alone everybody? I can see "is that a book you're reading" (or Nelson Muntz's "so, you like stuff?") working in the same way as deliberately using really bad pick-up lines. The I was accusing her of being a nerd and a psychopath mass murderer stuff is exactly what I mean by "the way" you have to talk... it's so fucking stupid, who the fuck talks like that? Flirtation to me feels the same as being made to danc…

Not sure what's not to like about talking to women The way they require you to do it.
/r/seduction01/11/19 04:33 PM

99% of people on the receiving end of just get hobbies and take a shower! ??? you've got a girlfriend! are taking showers regularly, that being a normal thing that people do. Just like everyone who was told to be themselves had been themselves their whole lives and it didn't get the same result as it did for the person with an attractive self. And what I'm obviously arguing is that you don't get more attractive just by turning 30. You have to have been attractive already.
/r/seduction01/11/19 04:27 PM

So how do you learn to like flirting (or even, how to do it)?
/r/seduction01/11/19 04:15 PM

Saying that men's SMV is the highest in their 30's isn't really advice, it's more of a statement of fact. The fact is that if you're a man who's built for game then your SMV is the highest in your 30's (for the reason that I said). It doesn't magically apply to everyone. If you haven't had those milestones and that practice then you're worse in your 30's (in relation to what you "should" be) than ever before. And you can't argue with "get a hobby and take a shower", come on now. Yes I can, it's …
/r/seduction01/11/19 04:09 PM

Men don't like having to flirt, it's something you do because girls require it. https://youtu.be/y_bY1Jae0FE?t=505 "Additionally, Henningsen found that flirting for fun was more common in females than males"
/r/seduction01/11/19 04:03 PM

I mean bad for the person that has to do it. And I meant common knowledge for those of us who know that cold approach is even a thing. If you've seen a PUA youtube channel then there's nothing new in that guide other than what I said.
/r/seduction01/11/19 03:50 PM

banter and conversation, etc. I've never seen specific instruction on this. You don't practice being sociable and charming only on attractive women you practice every day with everyone you meet. No, that's weird. You have no reason to be talking to those people. With the woman it's fine because the first thing out of your mouth was your reason for talking to her. How do you talk to random people you're not hitting on, though?
/r/seduction01/11/19 03:10 PM

I've read it. There's nothing in there that isn't common knowledge. Only thing I learned is that one-minute interactions are apparently fine, but apparently only if you do flirting and banter, which is as bad and as hard to do as the Natural Lifestyles-style ten-minute deep conversation where you're her sensitive BFF for the day.
/r/seduction01/11/19 03:07 PM

"SMV is most in your 30s" comes from having built up the skills in your 20s. Apart from the good-job thing it doesn't apply to him. And alot of us are in the same boat. "Peak SMV in your 30's" is literally about as normie-advice as "just get a hobby and take a shower".

I at least know that the advice I've been given barely even seems to understand the request. What advice would you give to a pure introvert?
/r/seduction30/10/19 01:38 PM

Talk as an end in itself, and getting lonely from being alone, are the definiting characteristics of extraversion. A person either is an extravert or they aren't. I can't become one. What I'm after is game for introverts. Not introverts with a little extravert in the mix - actual introverts.
/r/seduction29/10/19 05:17 PM

If I didn't want help I wouldn't be asking for it. Here's your game. Find a girl, make her laugh, get her number. Invite her to a bar, order a drink or two each, etc So it's "do daygame, then go to a bar do this other stuff". Yes let's just gloss over how you actually do the daygame when you're not you're not the type of person who can congruently do daygame. I can't drink alcohol, tea, or coffee either btw.

Modern seduction instruction is tendentiously about feelz, "vibe", etc, to the absolute, fanatical exclusion of telling you what to say. Nobody has seriously professed negging since 2010 either.
/r/seduction28/10/19 05:03 PM

There are countless studies bla bla bla Yeah. No-one's saying body language isn't useful to know. They're saying body language doesn't keep a conversation going. What specific body language moves helped you specifically with conversations&flirting ? It isn't enough to say that body language helped you with approaching or whatever when the thread is specifically about holding conversations and flirting.
/r/seduction28/10/19 04:58 PM

If you confirm that night game works the way I just said it did, then you confirm it isn't an option for me. I'm not a "fun" guy.
/r/seduction28/10/19 04:48 PM

/r/seduction28/10/19 04:40 PM

Don't have interests. I don't understand the appeal. Top 1-5% facially. Top 1% on height if we rank not by amount of inches but by how attractive the height is (i.e. there's an ideal height where any shorter or taller is less optimal - it's 6'2", by the way; my height). Still a KV. Autism is a death sentence.
/r/seduction28/10/19 04:35 PM

We've established in this thread that to run game you pretty much have to say and do things you wouldn't do if you didn't have to. That isn't "be your best self", it's literally "act like someone else".
/r/seduction28/10/19 04:25 PM

Today I am comfortable going out, people often say I am extroverted and wouldn't say I struggle to even start a conversation with strangers and keep them going. Because you learned body language? I find that hard to believe. Standing up straight doesn't change you from not knowing what to say to knowing what to say. Something else must also have changed between then and now, and you are crediting its effect to body language.

I don't find this advice very useful at all. Flirting is definitely a certain way of talking and definitely about the words you use. If not, then howcome people are able to flirt using text? It's as if you're saying the words don't matter in, say, comedy. Even if we mean conversation more generally instead of flirting in particular, I don't see how you're supposed to body-language your way out of not knowing what to say. I think it's more likely you just take knowing what to say too for-granted …
/r/seduction28/10/19 01:43 PM

So 'be yourself' was a fucking lie all along then.
/r/seduction27/10/19 08:17 PM

You don't even seem to understand the problem. It's incongruent to my personality to be talking to someone if it isn't serving a purpose; I'm 100% introverted. How can I fill an hour with just "I find you attractive"? I can't make anything else sound genuine, especially not finding out about their stupid passions.
/r/seduction27/10/19 06:55 PM

The bar thing doesn't make sense. The thing about night game is you get the girl when you're enjoying the night itself, not the girl. Going out for me is exactly like talking to people: it's not something I would enjoy as an end in itself. So straight away we can say night game will never work for me.
/r/seduction27/10/19 06:42 PM

Talking to people when it's a required step in whatever thing you're trying to get done "makes you a dick"? It makes you a pure introvert. Your friend sees a point in being friends with people, so probably he has things to talk to girls about and fill out their requirement of an hour or more of talk.
/r/seduction27/10/19 06:38 PM

The advice is constantly to never act outside of your personality but to find a style that you can be yourself with. So what style suits Ron Swanson?
/r/seduction27/10/19 05:53 PM

The conversation is the whole thing I want to avoid. I don't want there to be a conversation which we then make sexual, I just want sexual. I dont' ask for directions by being the guy's buddy and all; I just get what I want from him and then we leave each other alone. What type of game is most similarly to-the-point?
/r/seduction27/10/19 04:10 PM

I think lots of the time, we blame ourselves for our 'bad game' or not being able to hold a convo, but in truth, the issue is that you're trying to game a girl who simply isn't attracted to you Lots of girls are physically attracted to me. I can do eye stuff too. Just can't talk to people.

And yet they have no problems talking to people they're not attracted to? That's the bit I don't get. I can get being afraid of people, I can't understand why you wouldn't be afraid of people across the board in that case though. Sufficiently-hot girls are magnetic. They're nice to look at, it may outweigh the having to talk to someone. The discomfort of talking to them can only be less than for others.
/r/seduction24/10/19 12:59 PM

I hear this in the seduction community alot and I never get it. The more attractive a girl is, the more I'm motivated to actually talk to her.

Yes, there are lines that one person would make sound good while another makes it sound weird. OP isn't talking about it coming out weird when he says it. He's saying that line itself is weird. He can't picture anyone saying it and it sounding like something a real person would say. That's a different thing than what you're talking about.

You explained what the terms mean within this framework, but not what to do with them.
/r/seduction20/10/19 03:59 PM

I feel like this about the UK PUAs too though (and I'm from the UK). Yes let me approach a girl in Belfast and be all, "you have blonde hair (like half the girls here) so you look like you're from Sweden, when I think of Sweden I think of" It's almost like they're depending on girls not being enough of a native speaker to know what natural English sounds like.

This, except not just about yoga. I'm not a flirter, I'm not a talker, I don't like "fun", I don't like travelling. James Marshall seems to manage without flirting and getting on, but on the other hand he's very interested in getting to know the girl, and I'm not interested in knowing people.

I still don't understand the concept of a fear of rejection. It seems like a very specific fear to have, like being afraid of say clowns specifically, i.e. I get that it's a fear you can conceivably have, but it's kind of weird how the seduction community talks about it like everyone must have it. Without seduction constantly going on about it I honestly don't think it would ever occur to me to put the words 'fear' and 'rejection' next to each other, let alone do it all the time. When someone wi…

What I don't understand is WHY you have to use this stuff. You say "let's get a coffee some time" or whatever, the girl KNOWS that that means a sexual advance and says yes or no to it accordingly, so why can't you just say it directly and get the same answer? This game-playing for me is the worst stuff about all of this. It actually makes me hate women, at least until I understand what's a good reason for it. /r/seduction11/10/19 03:00 PM

He's on /r/seduction, he doesn't need to "meet people". Half the point of PUA (or at least daygame) is going directly to the girls and bypassing all the socialfagging you have to do where you join clubs and stuff on the off chance of a girl being there.
/r/seduction11/10/19 02:57 PM

Not everyone is this wacky extrovert. None of the usual things you're "supposed" to like appeal to me at all. I relate to this guy immensely, especially the point about careerfagging. Is 6 easy? Chasing a 6 down and telling her you saw her from over there and thought she was beautiful seems really far-fetched. If I did that I'd be worrying she's standing there thinking "if he does this to me is he basically doing this to basically everyone??" I'm not attracted to sixes anyway except as individual cases, so it's a moot point I suppose.

I'll add: James Marshall doesn't do flirting and bantering, which is why I'm drawn to him, but on the other hand, he's all about oohing and ahhing over a girl's fashion, so again you have to put on an act.
/r/seduction05/10/19 01:36 PM

It's the opposite. You have to learn flirting, teasing, all these things that ordinarily you would never do to anyone.
/r/seduction05/10/19 01:32 PM

So do people with a fear of rejection walk round literally thinking "oh no, I hope I don't get rejected", or what is it like? Just wondering how to know if you have fear of rejection or not, because I act exactly as if I have the worst fear of rejection ever, all while not understanding why anyone would ever have a fear of such a thing. /r/seduction04/10/19 01:37 PM

I would prefer if these guys would develop social skills first with their family, friends, classmates, co-workers etc. before they go out and do cold daygame approaches. I'm not interested in those people. With girls I at least want to be talking to them even if I'm no good at it.
/r/seduction04/10/19 01:36 PM

I like the idea of direct better. It's more socially acceptable (in Anglo countries other than America - see "Preframes: why you HAVE TO use them") You only need to learn game, not generalised conversation skills If she isn't interested you get out of the conversation straight away
/r/seduction03/10/19 06:01 PM

'Fact-collecting' is supposed to be a bad thing too
/r/seduction03/10/19 05:51 PM

They'll answer the "what are you up to?" and then I'll be like: oh. What do you do about responses that aren't questions? I know how to answer questions, and really, that's about it. And I gather that giving factual answers to questions is a bad thing in seduction, anyway, so really I don't even have answering questions down...
/r/seduction03/10/19 05:28 PM

/r/seduction03/10/19 04:11 PM

I'm interested in qualification as it's something I can conceivably do, unlike flirting and banter - but I don't understand it. How are you going to do a running stop on a girl, compliment her, and then just start asking her if she's worth talking to? You already ran up to her*, it seems weird to do that and then just start acting too cool for school. Like James Marshall's point about doing such a stop and then asking for directions. I don't like your examples, either. The boring one wouldn't wo…
/r/seduction03/10/19 02:04 PM

Yes, but what about daygame? You originally said most systems for daygame are different from the ones I've been seeing.
/r/seduction02/10/19 02:20 PM

Well? What are these other systems? All I ever hear in daygame is to give them a compliment and ooh and ahh over their fashion.
/r/seduction02/10/19 12:46 PM

I'm just trying to understand the mindset of the "the approach is the hardest part" people. Like, no... putting one foot in front of the other until you're near the girl isn't more complicated than running game on her. Even I found approaching easy, back when I knew word-for-word what words I was going to say. Extemporaneous speech, that's the hard part.
/r/seduction01/10/19 04:21 PM

Not if I'm not having sex. Plus, I'm not really interested in things anyway.
/r/seduction01/10/19 04:06 PM

I have been poorly socialised since my childhood. Things don't come easy when it comes to me especially if its an attractive girl I am talking to. I've seen this remark alot and I don't get it. Why would the one type of person you actually kind of want to be talking to be the more difficult case? At least you have a motivation in that case. At least you have some interest in the outcome. Some reason to try.
/r/seduction26/09/19 06:10 PM

Why would you ever talk to a girl unless you expected it to lead to something in the future?
/r/seduction26/09/19 05:10 PM

Nothing bad happens when you approach You have to talk to someone.
/r/seduction26/09/19 05:07 PM

I've had very good looking friends who girls would LITERALLY throw themselves at. Yes but you need to then not fuck that up. But without her tihnking you're handsome, attraction (through 'game') doesn't happen People who aren't handsome are getting laid every single day, dude.
/r/seduction26/09/19 04:46 PM

Past 'hello', at least, they don't matter. I get IOIs, but after that, nothing. 30yo virgin.
/r/seduction26/09/19 04:28 PM

She can get basically anyone. The guy above me is talking as if you can only get people exactly your equal, instead of less-than-or-equal. And looks have little to nothing to do with male attractiveness so you can shut the fuck up about that.
/r/seduction26/09/19 04:22 PM

It would be hard for me to take an acting class because I don't like or understand movies. Like...I go to the cinema, and I don't even know if it was a good or bad film until I go on Wikipedia afterwards and see what other people thought. Maybe I could take an acting class if I weren't trying to pretend to be into it and was just all "look, I'm just here because the seduction community keeps going on about it". If I'm paying them maybe they wouldn't consider that too much of a disruption, I dunn…

/r/seduction26/09/19 01:56 PM

In the real world, no guy, despite game, would be able to bang a girl like that without being extremely handsome or being a celeb or something Why? A girl needs to get laid, too. At some point she can't count on waiting around for this male 10 you describe. Basically you're saying some people are so attractive they can't get sex.

Indirect as a Brit makes no sense to me. You can't just go up to someone and start talking at them about random shit. They need to know up front your reason for being there or else you're literally the socially-retarded guy who doesn't even know you're supposed to do that.

I mean he's clearly correct that those pairs he listed are of contradictory things. I'll add one more: "Don't be needy" - "Approach girls" Why am I talking to someone at all, let alone initiating, if I don't want something from them?
/r/seduction24/09/19 03:25 PM

Shit advice. If I'm not consciously pursuing women then I'm not even crossing paths with them let alone talking to them.
/r/seduction24/09/19 03:12 PM

I can see why that's qualification; I can't see why it's "flirting".

/r/seduction23/09/19 01:34 PM

The thing is you need to be present in the first place to remember do to those things. I take my watch into the shower to avoid having an ADD shower, then never look at it because I'm focused on the song or imaginary conversation in my head. If I were present enough to remember to look at it, then I'd already be present enough to just directly remember to get scrubbing, and I wouldn't need the watch.

I think he's asking how you go from not touching them to touching them. Like, in the middle of the conversation do you just stick your hand out and start touching them? Any time anyone's done that to me it's felt as weird as it looks. Always makes me wonder what they're thinking that led them to do it. Oh, and teenagers don't really say "kissless virgin"; if they're a male then it pretty much goes without saying. Look at the digits in his username.

Necessary but not sufficient. I've never been a "nice guy", "friend-zoned", put women on a pedestal, or anything like that, but I've also never been laid. I don't have the social skills plus if I'm not cold-approaching I'm not even crossing paths with women in the first place.

If a homeless looking guy is capable of pulling hot girls... why can’t everybody have that? Because not everybody has that guy's attractiveness. And I don't mean his looks or his look, I mean his attractiveness. Humour, social skills, ability to create an emotional connection...
/r/seduction11/09/19 01:49 PM

I have seen some of the ugliest guys, with facial features contorted, crooked teeth and zero wealth consistently score 7s and 8s. If they could do that, why can’t you? That's like saying "I've seen guys with an even number of letters in their name... if they could do it then why can't you??" Your example of an incurable guy really should be someone with severe Asperger's or something.
/r/seduction10/09/19 04:25 PM

Was "she looks at me and walks away" the thing you feared? I never understood that one, especially why people talk about it like it's the worst possible one out of all the failed-approach situations. You don't even have to talk to them in that case. And then at that point you're just going about your day as normal. I walk away from people all the time. Before PUA I had no idea normal people were so affected by it. I still don't actually understand it.

How come you hadn't kissed a girl yet? Why didn't you have that many friends? I don't understand what people's lives are like that they can ask these questions. Not kissing a girl is the default state and getting out of that state is hard - men view it as so outside of their control that they refer to it as "getting lucky". And you're talking about it like it's something that just inevitably, automatically happens.

When you do a direct cold approach you're stating your reason for being there in the first five seconds, so there's no "why is this weird fuck talking to me?", plus we've seen it working plenty on youtube.

This doesn't work for me. I'm exceptionally bad at extemporaneous speech; knowing well that my objective of the day is "give them a compliment" doesn't help me come up with the actual words, especially not on the spot. I even need to rehearse the exact words for food orders.

Knowing when to tease isn't technically the same thing as knowing how to tease. I.e. you could be standing next to OP giving him the signal that now is the time to tease, but he still wouldn't be able to do it because he doesn't know what words to say. So I think your advice is "necessary but not sufficient".

Who keeps downvoting this guy's posts?
/r/seduction26/08/19 06:37 PM

Wrong. I check girls out all the time and then either ignore them or drive them away. Also, the girl in the OP really is driving him away rather than just politely declining which is what a normal person would do. Edit: I also specifically distinguish from avoidant personality from regular social anxiety (which is well-understood and doesn't need to be talked about any more) in the comment you are replying to.
/r/seduction26/08/19 12:41 PM

Abandon all hope; people that can flirt never explain how they can do it. The good news is I'm not sure if you need to flirt. James Marshall doesn't do that teasing and flirting. He just talks to the girl. Edit: And the other guy ITT is proving my first point perfectly.
/r/seduction26/08/19 10:07 AM

He made it sound like she was mirin' hard before driving him away once it looked like something could happen. So my explanation is consistent with that. But yes, given that there are other ways to explain what has happened, she probably isn't avoidant. Avoidant personality is less common in woman than men, too. What I'm actually doing is raising awareness of avoidant personality in this community, since most advice here, for people who try and try and still can't do it, is more oriented around r…

More or less all of the big PUA's you may have heard of started at rock bottom Examples? All the ones I know just found out one day that you're allowed to do this stuff, then the next day went out and did it. In the words of a recent post here, "All I had to do was approach" i.e. "I have all the needed abilities already e.g. conversation skills, the only thing missing is I'm not approaching".

How much of what you say is actually backed up by experience? Because what you're talking about makes no sense. Talking to strangers in a line doesn't happen, your directions opener for talking to girls doesn't work, and as for your example about guys, see my And if I do have a reason to be talking to them, then where is the conversation-skills practice? I'll just get whatever thing or information I'm there to get, and then be gone.
/r/seduction22/08/19 04:04 PM

But what reason is there for two men to be talking to each other? That's the bit I don't understand. You can't just go up to a man and start talking at him for no apparent reason.

This is what every single guy who can't interact with girls thinks. It's not. I can see them giving me signals, or very occasionally outright approaching me, so obviously I know they want me to approach them. I never had any especially strong belief in "girls aren't like that (sexual)" either.
/r/seduction21/08/19 07:38 PM

Could you clarify? Am I supposed to become an asexual or something?
/r/seduction21/08/19 07:32 PM

Who approaches people that they don't have some intention about?
/r/seduction21/08/19 07:29 PM

That doesn't make any sense (unless people are much more hung-up about sex stuff than I realised...). If you're in a shop and you can't find what you're looking for, it's easy to approach the staff and ask them about it - because you have an objective. But talking to someone without an objective? How are you even supposed to know what to say, where to begin?
/r/seduction21/08/19 07:27 PM

So don't chase them but do approach them. Right. Stop trying, just approach them without trying to.
/r/seduction21/08/19 07:01 PM

You haven't even done anything to say why it should be easier, what do you expect?
/r/seduction21/08/19 06:38 PM
2

I don't know which situation you're asking about but no, I don't really care about either of those things.
/r/seduction21/08/19 05:20 PM

I'm not more scared of hitting on girls than I am of weirdly talking to them for no apparent reason...
/r/seduction21/08/19 04:57 PM

Well all the professional PUAs advocate talking to them to pick them up, which makes much more sense to me.
/r/seduction21/08/19 04:36 PM

So you approach someone, project/state your intent which is "I'm practicing my skills", and then...?
/r/seduction21/08/19 04:08 PM

Glad I'm not the only one who sees that advice for what it is. I was worried if I was being avoidant about it.
/r/seduction21/08/19 04:05 PM

don't think about fucking her or any of that, just talk to her like any regular person I see this advice all the time and I never understand it. If I have no special reason to be talking to someone then I'm not talking to them at all. But surely you aren't trying to tell me "go up to girls and then say nothing".
/r/seduction21/08/19 04:04 PM

Can I get a British opinion on the following perennial advice? Talk to everyone! Chat up the bus driver! Go up to old people in the park and start talking at them! It's easier because you get nothing out of it! Is this actually good advice for everyone, everywhere? Or is it just that the Americans who say it don't realise how American they're being?
/r/seduction21/08/19 03:33 PM

This advice comes up here constantly, and this part, among others, is the bit I don't understand: they are men and there is no sexual interest involved, is much easier to do. If I have no reason to be talking to them, then how am I supposed to know what to say? Why is it easier? (And if I do have a reason to be talking to them, then were is the conversation-skills practice? I'll just get whatever thing or information I'm there to get, and then be gone.)

I didn't say I was fine with it, I said it obviously isn't a proven tip for overcoming approach anxiety. If it were then there would be no approach anxiety in anyone, because 100% of people are smart enough to have thought of it.
/r/seduction21/08/19 10:55 AM

I don't doubt that most people like talking about themselves, I just think the specific lines he prescribes don't sound like anything an actual person would say.

If I'm being myself then it would just be "wanna have sex?" and answering any questions with just yes or no. So I need scripts or some kind of system. If anybody has any that don't entail flirtatious banter that would be nice.

I find it hard to believe that "fear of rejection" (something I can't relate to at all, by the way - if the pickup community wasn't constantly rabbiting on about it, it would never occur to me it's a fear that people have...) was the one thing standing between you and knowing to say to people.
/r/seduction17/08/19 12:22 PM

I can't for the life of me understand it when people talk about this stuff like it's easier than, a warm-up to, talking to a girl. Like, at least I have a reason to be talking to the girl. Talking to people qua talking to people? I don't think I've literally ever done it in my life. Without an objective how are you supposed to know what to say? And what are you even getting it out of? It's like a case of https://www.reddit.com/r/depthhub/comments/1nnk41/_/cckahzk..

I live in the UK in a medium sized town, and I'm about 35 minutes away from a major city. This sounds good/okay but isn't. In the coming months you're going to want to be able to pop in and out ad hoc, namely the second you notice a window of no rain. Can't do that when there's a half-hour overhead.

I also have a book on mindfulness meditation specifically for adult ADHD which comes with a CD I haven't gotten around to yet. And no, I wouldn't actually say I've "been meditating" for months. I'd say that on most days for the last few months I've been allotting time in which to meditate, and sitting with closed eyes (and my usual ADHD imaginary conversations/arguments) while a meditation audio is p…

Oh. So if you were sitting around doing nothing, for instance, or out for a walk doing nothing, you would never describe yourself as being too in your head to, say, watch where you're going? And if that's not what in your head means, then what is the term for it? I'm more likely to find a solution if I know what to look for...
/r/seduction14/08/19 03:33 PM

What? 99% of the time that I'm in my head (whether I'm in pickup mode or not) it's nothing to do with "considering information", it's just everyday internal monologue. And when I am practicing pickup then I'm definitely not thinking about theory, because there is none - all I'm working on right now is approaching, and going up to a girl and then not being able to say anything is still an approach, so I don't even need to be worrying about what to say, and so I don't. How many times do I have to …
/r/seduction14/08/19 01:17 PM

Depressed people can concentrate; you might as well be telling me that people with a broken leg can meditate. And I said months, not one week.
/r/seduction14/08/19 01:02 PM

That doesn't get you out of your head, though. All it means is you don't have as much conflicting information.
/r/seduction14/08/19 12:52 PM

I've been at it for months and am not seeing the benefits that normal people get after a week. Yes, some of those studies literally say one week, IIRC. My question to you is: why would it not be the case that not everyone can meditate? Once you admit some people are better at stuff than others then it's just a matter of statistics that some people can't do it at all.
/r/seduction14/08/19 12:46 PM
1

That's obvious, but from the point of view of people who have social skills, it will always just be "just do it", "just be yourself", "that's literally it", etc.
/r/seduction14/08/19 12:11 PM

There are many papers demonstrating that meditation has clear and repeatable benefits. For people that are able to do it, that seems to be the case. But not everyone can meditate.
/r/seduction14/08/19 11:59 AM

So would the downvoters at least like to answer my question? When normal people say 'in their head' are they referring to something different that what I thought it meant? When you say things like 'just stop thinking so much then' like it's a choice it makes me think we're talking at cross purposes.
/r/seduction14/08/19 11:47 AM

People who say it doesn’t work are usually the ones who need it most. I definitely need the results it's supposed to bring the most. I can't get there via meditation, though.

That stuff is all orthogonal to being in your head in that the person who's in their head is going to be in their head regardless. Again, 'in their head' here means what I use it to mean, which you haven't confirmed or denied to be the same thing other people are talking about when they use the phrase. If a person walks around continuously subvocalizing, such that their ability to react to the world around them is about the same as reacting to it while talking to someone, then what does it matte…
/r/seduction14/08/19 08:12 AM

A guy is in his head all the time because he's in his head all the time. It's a function of the way he is. I don't see why the amount of stuff he's read would have anything to do with it. Except if when normal people say 'in head' they're talking about something other than what I think it means. I didn't say I have any issues about no... I've been no'd before, it doesn't feel like anything, you just move on. I'll throw my computer out the window if I see yet another 'fear of rejection' post, because it crowds out discussion about avoidant personality (am I really the only guy here with this issue?) plus I simply can't relate to the idea of a crippling fear of rejection in the first place.
/r/seduction13/08/19 06:32 PM

Do you think being indirect is what made it easier? For me it would be that asking for the McDonalds, you don't have to stick around and talk to them. Nothing to do with showing intent versus hiding it.

To meditate you need to 1) be able to concentrate, and 2) have enough dispositional mindfulness to "bootstrap" the mindfulness meditation. I haven't been seeing these benefits that studies keep saying normal people start getting after just one week of meditation.
/r/seduction09/08/19 09:27 AM

If you add up approaches and cat-calls I think I've had about six of that in my life. Mainly I just get IOIs, including by girls I was seeing around for years (in university). I just get that sense that people who were regularly seeing me around, yet never interacting with anyone, think I'm somehow interesting. In the case of girls, I always liked that, even though I'm avoidant. But now that I'm out of university I'm not seeing the same people around over and over, so I lose that advantage.
/r/seduction08/08/19 10:08 PM

/r/seduction08/08/19 09:41 PM

TBH I'm less interested in "what changed" than in how you were having sex when you could "barely talk to girls". That doesn't make any sense.
/r/seduction08/08/19 09:30 PM

Be the best aspects of yourself. If there are things you find that others like about you, accentuate them. I'm tall and good-looking, so my avoidant personality makes me seem "mysterious" or something. When I'm new on the scene people always try to chum up to me. I don't think I should be trying to accentuate this. Not that I want to be all faggoty and social, but I do want to have a girlfriend.

But I think people only get to this point after approaching a lot. I was actually referring to the British norm of not being able to talk to people if they don't know in the first five seconds what you're there for. You can approach randomers as a charity collector or a Mormon, you can't go up to someone and just start making small talk though (even though that's a common "warm-up" exercise suggested by Americans).

/r/seduction01/08/19 10:15 PM

I get all that. Except for the part where you talk about rejection like it's the one and only harm. Why can't it be that people have a fear of intimacy, instead? Especially if they're still stuck, as I am, on not even managing an approach. I can't see fear of rejection being consistent with that level of failure when half the internet at this point is inundated with content explaining that rejection isn't a big deal.
/r/seduction01/08/19 10:01 PM

Is rejection really why people don't approach? I just find it impossible to imagine a guy walking around town all day with a mission to do an approach and not being able to do it because "what if she says no". Yeah, what if she says no? Then she says no. I don't understand what the hangup is.

Are knowing something and being able to execute it really so closely coupled for normal people that you get to just assume if people can't do it it's because they don't know? We've all seen the field reports where a guy says it's his first day approaching (one day after finding out that you're allowed to do that) and he got this many phone numbers and one date. It's not new information.

Not me, and tbh I can't understand what you're talking about. treating approach anxiety like it's a choice and then explaining the logical reasons why it's a bad choice. Is there any AA documentation out there that's NOT like this? Because it doesn't help. Who's we? At least when there's rejection you get to get out of the conversation.
