my lawyer left me after eight months one week before pretrialCounting time off as income is one of the worst things I have seen since lurking around on reddit for almost 2 years. If this were the case then my divorce would have looked much different because my ex has a lot more time off than I do. Hope this all works out for you man. | /r/Divorce_Men | 19/02/21 02:59 PM
How do I find myself?Just to echo what was said above. Time. Start doing stuff, anything (that isn't destructive obviously), then keep doing what you like. You will get better at whatever it is. A lot of people explore fitness, reading, spirituality, cars, electronics, home improvement, volunteering, men's groups.. Dip your toe in and, think about how much you can learn and do in 5 years, not a couple of weeks or months. | /r/Divorce_Men | 10/02/21 02:51 PM
It’s such a drastic changePretty much my story, she has not to my knowledge accused me of an affair, otherwise the same. I am a year and a half out and am coming to realize that she was kind of always shitty to people who she had disagreements with, so it isn't surprising to me anymore what happened to us. For like 6 months all I heard about was how all the shitty things I did were my fault yet all the shitty things she did was also my fault. Like wtf.. I have pretty much moved on, but looking back I can't believe I had … | /r/Divorce_Men | 05/02/21 11:20 PM
How long before sex/dating againDo the work of figuring out where you went wrong, what kind of man you want to be and be fucking honest with yourself. Date, don't settle and be honest as you can with whomever you date. Accept that bad things may still happen and life will still go on, if you have kids be even more careful, but you need to live your life and connection with others is important. I am out of a 15 year relationship with 2 kids and only waited a few months and am currently in a relationship (6 months) that I got in… | /r/Divorce_Men | 23/01/21 11:27 PM
Has anyone divorced their wife due to her being infertile? That second paragraph is pure gold brother. | /r/Divorce_Men | 12/09/20 03:44 PM
Dating after DivorceI am almost exactly the same as you, am coming up on a year of divorce (married 12 years) and have been in a relationship for 3 months. We are not living together, and we each have small children, but I feel no desire to date other people. She is really everything I am looking for and we are taking it pretty slow, there is no real talk of moving in together or meeting each other's kids yet. The whole "wait a year" thing has been a little anxiety provoking for me as well, but someone told me ther… | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/09/20 07:37 PM
Seeking men advice during a separation - Cheating wife - Ontario CanadaSort of like a loan ya, but obviously nothing formal. | /r/Divorce_Men | 19/08/20 03:10 AM
Need adviceI am almost a year out and a similar situation. I have the kids 50%, and 100% of that time is awesome. When we were together I would be lucky if 50% of my time was good with the kids because I was always on edge. I cried about only seeing the kids half time, but it is fine. I do things around the house and date when they are not with me, so they are not getting my attention anyway. It is nice to have time for me and time for them. | /r/Divorce_Men | 19/08/20 01:00 AM
Seeking men advice during a separation - Cheating wife - Ontario CanadaThis is correct, however you also don't need to give her primary custody. Since you are already likely "separated" it might be difficult to do this but if I could go back in time I would move money into something she couldn't touch like gifting to my Mom. This is maybe underhanded (okay it straight up is), but divorce is divorce. Just keep in mind that you want your kids taken care of at both homes, which will mean giving her money. Best of luck man. | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/08/20 01:41 PM
Long & Complicated .... I Need HelpYour situation is way more difficult than mine, but I can relate. My daughter was born with a genetic condition and it caused no end of stress, anxiety and arguments. Both my ex and I had pretty bad depression and the relationship just turned toxic. I made a tonne of mistakes (anger issues due to the anxiety) as did she. I forgave and she harboured resentment and started to pull away. Now the marriage is over. Honestly, no one is perfect and everyone makes mistakes, when your ship gets blown off… | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/05/20 08:50 PM
