Yeah, exactly. I think many people state they are Christian because they call themselves that but I think most would also not know how to define that except maybe say "I go to church sometimes" or "I try to live a good life". So the actual number I'd say is probably much less.

That is true and a good point you make. A large percentage of people in the US do say they are Christian. What that looks like in practice may be something else. Yes, although I would not look at it from a statistical approach but rather a Biblical one. According to the Bible, God will provide for your needs. You may not know what that need or provision is, but seek and knock trusting God will lead you to the right relationship/marriage.

Women from conservative families/backgrounds are probably a better chance for you. It varies with country, but only 32% of American Christians in a poll said sex between unmarried adults in a relationship (but not married) is "never" acceptable. 67% percent of American Christians answered with some form of "acceptable" (even if one form of that was "rarely"). That is the kind of perception driving the numbers game in the US at least. Not exactly great numbers to be working with. https://relevant…

"My working undermines his authority" This is not true in any sense of the word. This is what I would expect a controlling abuser to say. The principal of working hard is throughout the entire Bible and what he is saying is in contradiction to it. He backs this up with what?

He is NOT your man. Engagement is not the same as marriage to this man. He is asking you to do what is dishonorable in the Lord's eyes. You do not owe him submission or anything like that. The Bible says that people will be known by their fruit. Him pressuring you for sex EVER or AT ALL reveals his heart. The Bible clearly states out of the mouth the heart speaks. You have heard his sinful requests that are proceeding from his heart. He is playing with fire, and being near him and most especiall…

In my opinion, Transition or acclimation or whatever you want to call it is this man/boy's responsibility. If he needs help, counseling, whatever then the men at the church he hasn't been going to can help him. If you break up with him don't drag it on. Be safe. If he isn't on the lease then get him out but with your own safety in mind (changed locks/keys, don't be around him without lots of backup/protection/witnesses).

This is very true. Someone will be on their "best" behavior before marriage. All of the things you mention will only get worse if you were to get married and you are stuck with him.

You may have promised, but he is not living up to his promise either which causes the break of the contract. His pressuring you for sex is in direct contradiction to your faith and your promise to follow God, which supercedes any promise you might have made to him. Aside from that, not working yet asking you to stop pursuing your career is a huge issue. Who is going to support you? In my view, this type of move is usually the signs of an abuser attempting to limit your options of escape and self…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
