OP is .. not operating in the same reality as this woman. Expecting 'escalation' but he'll try anything but talk to her about what his needs are, asking her where she is at, how she's feeling about him romantically, because that's where he's coming from with it. I'm learning from this that.. it's worth just admitting your attraction to someone.

lol op ignore the comments the way you would ignore your own jitters. Sounds like you went through a whole process of learning to value yourself, met a girl who saw that and enjoyed it and had a good time with someone you enjoy being with. are you going to meet her again?

I'm guessing this guy would go into a group of girls if there's room and just go.. "hi! you're all pretty! is that why you're friends?" and make that work :P

thanks. your comment led me to re-read this and.. it landed again. i feel that i really need to remind myself of this more often. I could do with integrating this understanding, it would relieve my anxiety. also in other areas.

right? You're not coming from a place of neediness, but an understanding that you have something to give too. and you don't have to go looking for what that is. You are enough. You are already a valuable phenomenon in the world. And the people who are your friends will recognise that value - when you bring to bear the courage to share yourself with the world

>He was having a tough night and my compliment seemed to have made him a bit happier. this is the key. Going out, showing up, being there and sharing the space with people. You can make a difference. You being there can make other people have more fun :) And I think.. they see that you're going for it, learning, growing. And it opens doors for them too. You can be an inspiration.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
