As someone who is on the outside looking in I don't get the point of connecting with people exclusively on "personality/sexuality differing from social norms." Maybe it's because I'm a white, straight, cis-man and so many other people are but I don't feel an inherent connection to other people who are the same. I just have friends and people who I enjoy conversing with. What I see as the problem with these groups is that there's not a way to do it without it inherently being misandrist/misogynis…

How many of the 1000 were people who joined out of morbid curiosity and promptly forgot about it? How many were """"journalists""""?

My issue is that people aren't, they're equating "62 million visitors" to "all men", and then when the numbers are pointed out they say the numbers don't matter. Just widespread misandry with this.

Yeah, with how prevalent "booktok" is I would think the more hardcore categories would be primarily female viewers. Men who talk about sex are labeled as pedophiles, women who talk about sex are labeled as well-read.

CNN's article states they were all boys, but not all black. In a statement Tuesday, Henrico police refuted theories shared on social media that all the infants targeted were Black. “The preliminary investigation indicates this information is not factual,” police said. Hackey agrees. “The children were different races, and there were twins and singletons,” he said. “There was no real methodology there that we can put together. The only thing they have in common is that they are all boys.”

I think rural areas and low socio-economic states are also included in this. The online discourse is "all rural areas suck" and it's always posted by someone who is immediately visible as being left, most likely by having pronouns in their display name. Calling someone a cousin-fucker doesn't really lead to a productive conversation.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
