(BPD) I would add that the causation of this particular personality disorder is hypothesised to be due to attachment disorder meeting with systemic childhood and/or adolescent trauma. It is important to realise that they are not born this way. There are obviously certain genetic predispositions but adequate parental care is a major protective factor.
