Often they're still used to a time where they were discrimated against (like 40 years ago) and they see themselves in young women and want to "set things right" by doing "the opposite" thing. So basically doing what happened to them to men

It's because it's a movement by women for women that decided they also wanted men to support them. It's fine if they want to come up for Womens rights, but they're trying to say that they're for everybody's rights which is just not true. They want support from everybody. Also most femist spaces are turning into echo Chambers. They're not ready to hear that yet tho

I love that I have no idea what you just said towards the end but it somehow still makes emotional sense

That’s an interesting way to frame it. I hadn’t thought about the idea that changing your expectations over time could feel unfair to your partner. Definitely something to think about. Would you say that there is either a limit or a minimum amount of standards that you're partner should have? Even if you have a partner with very few standards, i can imagine you still have some that are real musts

Sounds like you hit the jackpot. You found someone who liked you, not your list of credentials, that’s goals right there

Exactly. If someone asks what I bring to the table, I’m just gonna say vibes and hope they appreciate fine dining

Cool, I’ll bring an eighth dessert. Consistency matters

Okay but real question, is there a sign-up sheet or are we risking seven desserts and no mains again?

I really like this perspective. You’re right, too many people treat dating like a negotiation rather than a connection. The “what do you bring to the table” question kind of assumes the relationship is transactional from the start. I think chemistry and shared outlook matter way more than listing traits like a resume. Unfortunately i feel like in the current dating scène not everyone thinks like that. Obviously that just means that they're not the one, but it still feels discours ging, online or…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
