| 2 | How Bad of a Beatdown Was This? Were your personal savings all pre-marital assets too? I'm curious how she was able to stake a claim to your home. Guessing she was also paying part of the mortgage. | /r/Divorce_Men | 26/03/26 02:32 AM |
| 1 | Man you guys are always right.I haven't started the process yet, so I'm not sure. Typically, loan assumption isn't possible for most conventional mortgages when a 3rd party is involved. But that's completely different than needing to remove an existing borrower so the other borrower can assume the entire mortgage themselves. The remaining borrower still has to financially qualify to carry it alone. There's a lot of details someone posted in this thread about it: https://www.reddit.com/r/Divorce/s/e74F70GFVl | /r/Divorce_Men | 25/03/26 03:09 AM |
| 7 | Man you guys are always right. If you've got a good interest rate, you might not need to refinance (unless you need to take the equity out to pay her). I'm going to see if I can assume our mortgage instead. | /r/Divorce_Men | 24/03/26 04:01 AM |
