You just can't win with them. Everything you say will be wrong.

Thank you. I try to read more sources and stay sane. I work in a male dominated field and there's many guys I like - although I wouldn't necessarily date them. I wouldn't want to have the power of modding my own sub though, I suspect I'd lose having the higher ground of a spectator, if that makes sense.

Not the person you replied to but I kind of relate, so I might give you an answer as well. I pursued men, complimented them, paid for the dates, let them live with me for free, built them up, helped them change careers, gave them everything they needed and took care of them. Never have I ever gotten myself a decent man that way. Only after I found FDS I realized it's me damaging my relationships. I have dated different kinds of guys, different backgrounds, different religions, different physical…

Same. I also think while sexual pleasure is important, it's not all about the dick. We can prefer various sizes, but the guy still has to try. A big penis won't guarantee he doesn't suck in bed. If lesbians can satisfy themselves, if I can satisfy myself, then "but my pp small" excuse simply won't do. That's why I don't get why this sub places so much importance in a big penis, while the effort is what truly matters.

And they're so kind that they'll even offer you some shitty sex to go with it

And then saying "Let's just drop it" instead of saying "I am sorry".

Also she's using Germany as justification why she doesn't have student loans and therefore is financially secure. As a European while cheap colleges are great, they still take a lot of time and don't allow you to work full-time and save up. Our wages are also smaller since we have less debt to pay in our lives. I work full-time and still realize having a child here isn't as easy as she makes it out to be. Living in Germany or other EU country doesn't guarantee that single mothers in college don'…

If this isn't a fake, then it definitely gives the vibes that it was made more for tiktok and popularity, than to actually celebrate and elevate their relationship.

It's tricky. One of my exes insisted I stop putting on makeup altogether. While he said I looked better that way, I felt like crap and my confidence went down and - you can guess it - the abuse started. I was never good enough, never slim enough, never pretty enough, never modest enough, I was blamed for not being a virgin before I met him while he'd pressure me for anal sex. I don't even believe he liked me that way, just needed to ruin me somehow. I guess the best case is dating a man who comp…

Also, if I were his current GF, I definitely wouldn't like him running to rescue his ex unless it's life threatening - and setting up a computer is not.

Sure enough. I know what this sub would think about it and I know I've still got a long way to get where I want to be. For what it's worth, he did level up.

We both code. I've spent half a year explaining to my boyfriend that you can hurt people even if it wasn't on purpose and that still requires expressing a regret - preferably an apology. When telling him that I'm hurt by something he did or said, he'd always spin it around, saying I'm making him out to be some villain, he didn't do it on purpose, it wasn't that terrible, I should work on how I deliver my complaints, etc - instead of saying a simple "I'm sorry, I'll try not to do it again". Guess…

I translate being anti-vax as just being stupid. I'm not surprised stupid people make poor relationship choices, but I wouldn't attribute it just as being a "pick me". Same for the unprotected sex. From my POV, even intelligent women can be pick mes for various reasons. This post isn't too good.

To answer the question in the title - I got better than those who were supposed to help me and mentor me and they harassed or bullied me instead. I did it on my own, I pulled nights, I pulled weekends, I worked 14 hours a day, I studied endlessly and I became better paid, more accomplished and acclaimed than those who seeked to either bully me away from any progress or groom me into being a stay at home bangmaid with a spring of abuse on the side. While some of the conditions we face may be hard…

But you can be damn sure he's going to want your financial, emotional and time costly support building the company he doesn't want you to get anything from.

Look, I'm not in the mood to fight about why OTHERS are not doing some things. None of my business. If you look at everything saying "Men don't do it, wHy ShOuLd I", then it's no way to level up. Sit on a couch, pop a beer and watch TV. I don't give a damn.

I think less chin looks better on men as well. Why they're not putting effort in looking better is none of my concern and I can't change it anyway. I want to look better, though.

I may as well have a self love problem. I don't see how making myself look better in order to be happier is something I should be shamed for, though.

I have a small double chin while being skinny. I'm pretty sure it will never be fashionable and I'd like it surgically adjusted. My takeaway from this is that people (women) shouldn't be shamed for deciding to alter their body, no matter their reasons. Some people have plastic surgery so they like themselves better, not because it's currently fashionable.

I've been in the field for ~5 years and it's so rare to even get a designer. Managers expect devs to do it - and they do to some extend - but it never looks as good as when it's done by an actual professional. There's also that aspect that when we're speaking front-end development, people often don't have the skill for beautiful styling of apps, aside from lacking the creativity as well. I had a project with a designer twice, both were women and I loved working with them. It felt so much better …

I keep hearing about it here and I have the same experience. I was at a couple's therapy with my ex multiple times and the woman kept telling me to communicate better when I complained that he never tries to be understanding. The thing is - I was already so exhausted with my communication! He was the kind of a guy that would never listen to me (same when he was talking to/calling his mother, always typing stupid crap on facebook and just answering "Yes. Uh-huh. Okay. Sure. That's nice."), he wou…

My friend has a wooden engagement ring with glued on plastic "stones" that keep falling off 😫 I couldn't bring myself to compliment it when she was showing it off. I can't help but think if this much effort goes into picking out a ring, there won't be much more effort in the whole relationship.

I had a similar story. I felt like the communication was working, I liked the guy. Asked him out, what do you know? Hours of silence. Then he said: "Sorry, I just wanted to lift your self esteem up." What the hell? So I replied saying: "Okay, I get that, sorry for misunderstanding your intentions. It will be better to cut contact for me from now on." And drumroll, the next day he comes crawling, saying he wants to go on a date with me. Me, feeling sorry for the "shy sweet guy", I said yes. Then …
