I remember reading a story about how a girl committed suicide after her dad punished her by cutting off her hair and sent the video to her friends. There was a lot of outrage calling him an abuser. It actually turned out later, from what I remember that the poor girl actually sent the video to her friends and committed suicide due to other reasons. Anyway, public punishments like this to be put online and follow a kid for his whole life is bad parenting.

What does that have to do with Islam? The bible is like that, the Torah is like that, those values are present in basically all traditional cultures across the world. There are plenty of Muslims who would say they are promoting Islamic values yet they disagree with all of that.
