Or is it simply that alphas, by definition, are assholes? No exceptions? And that's why they need both the alpha and beta? I was hoping for something more grounded in science or documentable social forces, etc. It just doesn't seem to make sense that if you're looking for the most evolutionarily fit mate wouldn't displaying asshole-like behavior, especially towards yourself, indicate psychopathology and damaged goods?
