The other perspective of what you're saying...that Irish women prefer a man with a good name, social skills, known by the local community and liked by their friends and family and has a means of income. Maybe this method of vetting is why Irish-Irish relationships are so strong? Like I know our divorce statistics are artificially low but they are still quite low. The nurse/teacher and GAA/farmer/engineer relationships have a good success rate. The Irish-foreigner relationships appear to fail A L…

I think the the toxicity of bad actors in dating might have a lot of otherwise good people damaged. Maybe men fall more victim to being ghosted or abused. Women get lied to and manipulated for sex and then ghosted. Then the build up of mildly traumatic experiences leads to increased pickiness and aloofness in dating so by the time you hit your thirties you've got the guard up and a laundry list of what you think are "red flags". Around 5'9 is my preference. I dated shorter, gone taller, back to shorter and back taller again - my preference has stayed the same. I think it comes with a preference for stocky (but not fat) body types. My taller men were just too lean - a less stable center of gravity. I also don't like craning my neck while kissing. (I'm 5'6). The chest hugs are nice though.

27F - 8 All I had ever learnt about sex before I started it at 20 was how it works, and how not to get pregnant. I received no moral instruction and never learnt about what virginity was (other than it was the word for someone who had not yet had sex) or why it might matter. I was in my early- mid twenties before I talked to anyone about it (All girls school, no male friends, few female friends, very shy). I guess I'm sort of old now but I'm still figuring out how dating works. I think that numb…

It's proportional. If you're good looking, your personality doesn't have to be as good. If you're not good looking but you've got confidence, charisma and humour then that will compensate. I think there are far more people who are reasonably good lookiing than there are people with personalities that stand out so much that their looks are almost irrelevant.I don't know why anyone thinks looks don't matter for women, or who chastise them for valuing looks when men value the same thing? Honestly, …

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
