Not sure why you are being downvoted, it definitely read like AI and O appreciate your ask! While there is nothing wrong with a contributor running their post through ChatGPT to make it more concise, it helps to know that there is a person behind the content and experience, your question confirmed that and added to the value of the post (in my opinion).

Sounds like you’re his entertainment I hate to say. If you’re interested see him, but know that it’s going to be all about him and don’t invest yourself in the idea of him or this relationship. If he is in fact wealthy it sounds like he’s enjoying having his ego stroked while regaling you with tales of travel and promises of experiences you likely won’t have with him.

My personal opinion is no, do not do this all for the sake of a preschooler. If you want to get dressed up, have a. Ceremony, host a celebration, do that and include her… but otherwise, I think there are other fun ways that you can play into her love of weddings without setting weird expectations and ideas and catering to the whims of a child. Maybe find out what she loves about weddings (jewlery? The glitz and glam? The dressing up? The fancy foods or dancing?) and host a fun tea party to celeb…

OP what country is it to? You will all be out less money if you do not go, as it is likely that you will be spending something while there- for souvenirs or other things. But, it sounds as though arrangements have been made by him to help you address your travel anxiety ( you will have another adult there) and it sounds like you acknowledge that the work he needs to stay behind and so it life changing and career changing… As anxious as you may feel, o think you should embrace the trip and challe…

Hi, people pleaser in recovery here. It will be a valuable skill for you to learn not to laugh off your discomfort, or shrug off bad behaviour. The cool girl / girlfriend act will make you seem to have values different than yours truly are, and will attract the wrong people. Learn to speak up about how you feel, if the person you are with doesn’t like it and no longer has the same level of interest, that’s not the person for you. I am not suggesting you be judgemental or hyper critical, but when…

In my opinion less is more. Don’t apologize, you’re not weird and you don’t need to be sorry. Put it out there as you’ve planned and you will get his answer :) Good luck!

Girl….. Read what you wrote. Most of that was actually about you. Your hardships. Your excuses for being an absent friend. Your preferences for your friends wedding. That was a lot. My suggestion to you is that you focus your energy on your own growth and self awareness, and find ways to be gracious and supportive of your friend. You don’t get to make the decisions on who or what or when or where or why or how her wedding will unfold, you only get to choose your own behaviour and level of partic…

Or better yet come up with your own. You need to be you, so adopt the concept but gear towards your own interest, and maybe avoid words like “if money were no object” or questions about shopping spending. I say this because you mentioned these are wealthy people, so avoid focus on money, cost and spending.

Don’t pick your partner for their potential. Pick them for their current value.

Comparison is the thief of joy. Remind yourself that all women are beautiful, some in less conventional ways, and that you should not define your worth by believing your beauty is « greater » than that of another person. Are you a good human? Are you looking after yourself, your family, your partner? Do you choose kindness first? You need to understand that YOU are unique and spectacular and anyone who ever tries to convince you otherwise (including yourself!) is the enemy.

Do you think there is a chance he is planning the trip for you to take together? Maybe as a surprise honeymoon gift etc?

Stop putting her on a pedestal for him and stop romanticizing her - you’re the one viewing her as the one that got away! It’s not a competition, you have amazing attributes, you are fit, strong, tall, have mysterious dark features , celebrate your intelligence and strengths and beauty and channel your energy to be the best you- that’s what is attractive. Be pleased that your partner seems to have big standards and good taste in women, and recognize that he chose you! So what does that say about …

The paper version of how a partner looks is like the 1dimensional version of who they are, and can be useful when you’re deciding if someone is possibly a good partner for you. But it’s what happens in 3D and beyond (how they behave, how you feel with this person, timing in your life and theirs) that will either line up or won’t. And when things don’t, that’s okay. Live in reality and don’t stay in a relationship for what it could be when it just isn’t.

Hey OP, I just wanted to comment to tell you that the only person in your life that you need permission from is yourself. If you want to take a break from a dating, do it! If you want to break up with a partner because things don’t feel right, do it! If you receive a proposal prematurely and aren’t ready - you don’t have to accept. You write your own story and there is no one better positioned than you to make your decisions.

Don’t fake friends. Is there a local charity or organization you can volunteer with? Animal shelter, historic park, condo board… find anything you are interested in, and start volunteering- you will find some like minded people and you will have a place to go (while doing volunteer work) and you get to decide if you want to take the friendship further for coffee, lunches etc

I’m not going to tell you to dump him, but honestly- it sounds like something IS going on with your partner and it relates to how he is feeling about you. It’s convenient to blame shitty bosses or work, but his irritation with you is likely a reflection of how he is feeling about something in your relationship. And truthfully- for you to say you have used all the tests and tricks to find out if he is trustworthy, and to say you think you need to be more harsh with him…. Those aren’t normal state…

Have you heard of Dior glow? It’s expensive (like 38$ a bottle) but WORTH IT! And way cheaper than biweekly gel nails or manicures. In the bottle it looks bright pink but when you put it on (2 coats, dries fast, easy application) it looks clear with just a touch of blush in artificial light, and like you have naturally French manicured hands in natural light. Prior to this I did bi weekly gel nails but Covid brought me this gift and I am not kind to my hands- this is a blessing! And I swear, I a…

Can I just say... You have vetted him through mutual friends which also means that he has likely vetted you through mutual friends - and so far, to him- you seem like a catch!!!! It’s important to take care of ourselves physically and I applaud you for your desire to be at your best- but don’t forget about your mental health and emotional wellness. It can be really easy to become so focused that you lose site of the bigger picture- and it’s who you are that he is interested in, looks matter but …

Stop trying to compare yourself. Comparison is the thief of joy. Celebrate what you have going for you and spend your energy admiring what others have going for them. When you feel yourself feeling envious shift that envy into a mental (or verbal) compliment. You will feel gracious and more confidant and it will reflect in your self confidence and positively impact how others perceive you :)
