Yeah, both extremes are scary.

I haven't seen the commercials. The worst thing to me is sugar is snuck into things that don't even need it--just about everything has sugar!

I think anyone who has a grasp on reality and is the least bit self-aware knows the difference between fantasy and reality. However, genre fiction is meant to appeal to the masses and Romance thrives on tropes. Readers have certain expectations that have to be met in order for a book to be successful. I roll my eyes at a lot of it too! When a simple conversation could fix all the problems it's not a very good book IMO. But we're not the target audience for Romance, obviously. Romance subplots ca…

Love this, eating healthy is almost taboo these days. My family thinks I'm depriving my daughter by not letting her have sugary treats and juice. -_- I'd love to see a post of what everyone eats on a daily basis, kind of a standard meal plan for one day.

I love that sub too! Meal prep and my crock pot are my saviors for eating healthy. Your coworker story is just like some of my younger family members. They've never been taught healthy eating habits and never drink water, and watching them balloon as they go through puberty is breaking my heart.

I'm a bit circumspect to post this, as it's personally revealing and I can't comment on the full aspect of your post, but here goes it--I write for a living. Would you want to read a book about two characters meeting, instantly falling in love, and living happily ever after? It'd be a pretty short story! There needs to be conflict in novels, movies, plays, and what have you or things are pretty boring. The thing about fiction is Happily Ever After is easy--we see the hero and heroine riding off …

"Professor Archer has noted that, among female college students, 29 per cent admitted initiating an assault on a male partner. Of those women, half said they had no fear of retaliation. In other words, far from assuming that men are violent, women (sometimes wrongly) take men’s non-aggression for granted. There was a time when husband-on-wife violence was socially acceptable. Fortunately, in the last century that came to an end. Unfortunately, that didn’t usher in a new age of domestic harmony. …

There is nothing feminist about cheating on your spouse. Oh yeah? http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2015/07/20/dear-feminists-im-sorry-i-was-wrong-i-take-it-all-back/

The first liberated women, the women who actually broke down the walls, were all madams. They owned businesses/property, wore makeup, walked down the street without a man, and had their own bank accounts long before women were marching down the streets demanding suffrage. "Feminism claims that before its onset, women were a faceless, abused, uneducated mass. Nothing could be further from the truth. Biblical laws have protected women for many centuries before feminism came into the picture. Take …

Ah, the ol' definition of feminism argument. The problem with words is they are squashed by actions--feminist organizations repeatedly take action to squash equal rights. Self-proclaimed feminists attack those who disagree with them, skew statistics to favor their agenda, and blame everything, even individual womens' mistakes, on Big Bad Patriarchy. I would say feminist ideology breeds victim complex and rallies against traditional gender roles and relationships, which played a part in this woma…

No, I'm not saying feminism is the cause, but that I've seen it to the extreme in people who identify as feminist--women shouldn't be questioned about rape claims, the whole "you're with us or you hate women" mentality, and a myriad of other things.

It describes a certain mentality most feminists and a lot of women in general seem to carry, that women can do no wrong, or an attitude in which women are catered to in a way that takes all personal responsibility away from an individual. Rather than honest, straightforward discourse, "team women" comments ignore the part the woman plays in her own problems and seeks to justify whatever behavior she exemplifies.

This is beautiful. Is the rest of the book similar or more geared towards recovery/spirituality? I'd like to give something like this a try.

Do you mean you've never had vaginal sex, or no sexual contact at all? Although it's extremely unlikely, saliva can transmit some STDs and HPV can spread from skin to skin contact, so getting tested at your yearly checkup makes sense even if you aren't having vaginal/anal/oral sex. Anyway, since women frequently lie about their sexual histories I can see why this alarmed the guy. Learn from the experience. Others here have given great advice.

I saw a news story recently about a high school wrestler getting herpes from the mats. I would imagine close contact sports could possibly spread STDs.

The only person you can control is yourself. No amount of whining, pouting, tatruming, manipulative bs is going to get the universe to bow to your whims. Just as no amount of cooking and cleaning is going to instantly make you happier. Do you want to be happy? Then make it so. Stop expecting others to do it for you. THE GOOD: I'm keeping up with self-care everyday. Being aware of it has helped me realize what I need and how much better I feel when taking care of myself. Husband is much happier n…

Fun: Reddit. Since deleting FB this has become my main source of social interaction. Currently working on finding women with similar values to get to know in my area. Going to parks. I love being outside and it's finally warming up! Taking pictures Reading Video games--this is new for me. My husband bought a gaming system and encouraged me to play with him. You try explaining why you're picking fights in order to get sympathy and justification from your SO? Can you see how manipulative and unattractive that is? Stahp. Bring it back to you when you feel like picking a fight. Ask yourself why you're feeling the way you are, and what you can do to handle your emotions. Your SO shouldn't be expected to do that for you. When I find myself being critical I think to myself, "My husband loves me and wants me to be safe and happy." I think about his good qu…

I'm halfway through now, but wouldn't mind starting over to join a discussion group. Talking about the concepts and sharing examples from our lives sounds like a good way to internalize the information.

Communication from an early age, opening a dialogue between us which will hopefully translate into her feeling comfortable with me as she gets older. I remember shutting my mother out, and her basically ignoring me, from the time I was ten. Choices will always have consequences, whether positive or negative. Taking responsibility rather than shifting blame. Responsibilities will start early--she has to learn to take care of herself and a household. I look forward to cooking with her! We've alrea…

I started with what we normally eat and googled ways to make the recipes in a crockpot--so we eat tacos every week, I looked for crockpot tacos, crockpot chicken instead of baked chicken, pot roast is always a favorite and so simple (pioneer woman has a great recipe), and chili/soup when I'm really trying to save time or low on groceries. I don't have one particular source for recipes, and after making things for a while you'll learn how to throw stuff together to suit your family's tastes.

Hi Butterfly. After having my daughter, I went through some rough patches. I was treated for PPD and, although I had extremely positive emotions about my husband and daughter, I had such horrible feelings about myself and a ton of anxiety in general. Life was difficult those first eight months. I'm happy to report at 14 months into my daughter's life, I'm feeling my old self, and a big reason is this sub. I try to think of of my husband when I'm feeling bad. He's away from the home, missing out …

My new favorite is YSL Black Opium. It is sweet, but spicy too. I think it's a really sexy smell. Prada Candy and Pink Sugar are some others I like.

Oh thank you so much! This is such a good idea. I used to be a list maker, but I've fallen out of the habit since my daughter. I'm just getting back into a routine schedule in my new role and a home binder will be an invaluable asset!

I'm a little late, but ready to come out of hiding. Hello. :) I'm an anti-feminist and found RP through men's rights material. My interest began with researching circumcision. I don't agree with all proponents of RP theory, but I value masculinity, femininity, and personal responsibility. I'd really like to join the chat soon. I have a hard time keeping up with the forum but I read it when nursing (feel like that's my only downtime!) and it has helped me so much.
