1	Is having a male therapist a no? I like this perspective. I reached out to sooo many different therapists. I really want someone who could treat ocd/anxiety based conditions but also someone who understands trauma, complexed trauma from childhood abuse, and personality disorders. The modalities I want are erp and also somatic work. He fits more boxes than any of the other therapists I reached out to. 3	Is having a male therapist a no? Yes, it includes sexual trauma. It was around 16/17 when I realized one of the reasons I was uncomfortable with a male therapist was because I was afraid of men. Very valid to be afraid. But I figured I should let that go for therapeutic relationships. Like, with it being a professional relationship, that shouldn’t be a concern right? He does give me good vibes but now I’m afraid because I’m not having a great time currently and I’m thinking of all of the shitty men I’ve encountered (that I’ve finally decided to cut out for good).
