Yes. Equally so - it's not the fault of the man leaving his car unlocked that it got robbed. It's the fault of the fucking asshole who thought taking other peoples things and removing their sense of security is fine. This kind of discussion tends to treat bad things as inevitable if you don't take lots of precautions, which isn't exactly healthy. Yup. Of course, judging gamers on how hardcore they are is kind of, well - a jocky thing to do. (We're better at sports/games than you are, you don't know anything about football/Final Fantasy you must be a LOSER. I don't have to take you seriously because you only play meaningless and easy sports/games like billiards/COD and so on..)

Can I just say that gamers being mocked for being gamers is not a uniquely female pursuit. It has to do with popular culture, stereotyping and the idea that it's an unproductive pursuit in a society that requires productive behaviour. That may be wrong or right - but has nothing to do with men's rights.. social equality for gamers maybe.

Well, that really depends on what you wish to achieve. Violence can be very, very effective. Especially if you want to avoid civil discourse - or wish to discredit the dscussion as a whole, or wish to make the topic threatening, or bring it into the news, or.. etc. You don't have to be dumb to use violence, just lack empathy with the victim. Protests and activism are not the same as violence mind, though it can result in violence.

That's.. not even remotely true. Perhaps, in parts of the western world - I might agree with you, but as a general rule? Sheesh. Go to Bangkok, visit Lahore and Teheran. Go see the damage and mutilations being done every day in Africa. Then tell me it's not necessary to remind people of the equality in value between men and women.
