Don't forget transportation to the court house. In my county, I have to drive a fairly long way to get to the court house for such things. It's not a trivial thing to just go to small claims court. it requires time, money and transportation.

I realize hueypriest came into that other thread and moderated it, but I haven't seen an official word on not being able to post twitter links. r/mensrights also has no such policy. So let's just see what happens I guess (I say all of this realizing you're a mod here so do what you want if you feel like this post is inappropriate).

I mean 1) I can only fit so much on there, 2) many of my points are actually parody of the original image and 3) I know I'm not going to please everyone with the points I've made. While it is true I have screwed up quite a bit, if she had agreed to mediation and had just been willing to settle it like adults, I would not have even had to retain a lawyer and make those mistakes.

Yes I take care of them every weekend which is a huge joy to me. My ex-wife settled out of court after her money ran out (she siphoned $9000 from the guy she left me for to pay her lawyer to take me to school. Side note: she cheated on him too!) I realize despite my financial problems that I am so lucky to have weekly unsupervised visitation. Many other fathers don't get that. Is so time consuming, exhausting and I get nothing personal done during my weekends, but as they grow more autonomous I …

In hindsight I can totally see that. I was so upset and my mind was cloudy at the time. I was ready to go a million dollars into debt if it meant having my kids again.

If you're having trouble reading his sign, it says he hasn't had child visitation since 06. I sat down and tried to talk to him but he wouldn't open his mouth. I asked him how many children he had and his lifted one pinky. I showed him pictures of my kids and he smiled. As I talked he continued to stare straight ahead. His sadness was palpable. I shook his hand and told him it was going to be ok. But who am I kidding? Sometimes it's just not.

It's not a crime against the child. Sheesh. It's a very very common thing and many people choose to do it for medical reasons. "Well the child didn't choose to have that happen." You might say. Sure. But you know, my son has Cystic Fibrosis and didn't choose to have a port and G-tube put into his body to improve his life span either. Parents make decisions all the time that affect the bodies of their children so that they can improve the longevity or quality of their children's lives. It's part …

I have all the evidence...I went to the police with it. They're not going to charge her with anything. Bankruptcy is my last resort. If my painting plan fails and I am unable to get a new job, that'll be what I do. Still have a little while before things get that dire yet.

Sorry if there was a miscommunication. I am not attempting to make a career out of this- just make my paintings and sell them so I can move on with my life. I am also working on my web design portfolio update so I can get back into the saddle as a web designer.

Thanks very much. I have actually had 2 1/2 years of drawing classes but switched to graphic design when I got to painting classes because they were much too difficult for me. As a career now, I am a web designer. So I am very behind when it comes to paint. Appreciate the words of wisdom.

Well the artists in r/art can tend to be a tad elitist/dickish. We had a contest last month for the header image and the people that were submitting art went through and downvoted all of the other artist's submissions. After a day or two of submisisons, EVERY submission was in negative karma. I had to write a post scolding the artists, and the rest of the community banded together and got all of the entrants back up into positive karma. It was pretty sad but also funny at the same time. I was ma…

I want to thank you for your idea on selling my art. You really inspired a rather ambitious idea. It will require somewhat of a financial and time investment on my part and commandeering my garage for probably a month solid- but I think it will be worth it. I filed a police report when she took them. Since we were married and nothing had been filed, it wasn't considered kidnapping. She came back when a judge ordered it...so she got away with it for 2 weeks at least.
