Just chiming in with minimal knowledge but I do believe police are allowed to arrest you without formally charging you with a crime for a specific amount of time. The time varies dependent on the suspicion and your area. at least in those ages, there was something behind their argument, even if overall there was some kind of imbalance in what they asked for. what's going on now is simply pure PP wants, and seeing how much they can get with none of the negatives that come with it. I never understand that "crumbs" POV. My wife, if finishing her doctorate in pharmacy this year while holding 2 other degrees, one as a nurse (7 years RN) and a chemistry degree. She's at the top of her class, and most of her doctorate class is made up of women. She has and will always make way more money than me, and that's quite ok.
