If I showed you the stats and they proved women get murdered or gravely threatened for saying no, would this convince you of the point or not? I'm just trying to figure out if the request is genuine or just a goalpost.

You can start from yourself. Stop shaping yourself to the idea of what females want. I've never understood this need of other men to be close and communicate with women. Sure, they're fine, but from past relationships all I've found is women who are very hard to talk to about anything that is rational and fun to think about, or just have general fun with as 2 humans who can stargaze and talk. There's no "response" to this. This actually happens frequently and it's a disgusting attribute ingrained in many men. No one needs to belittle the problem women have in order to acknowledge the problem men have. This is a huge problem, it's very simple.
