The point is to get women into what's considered man only fields and the other way around too. Except for muscle work, gender does not matter. That's a bold statement. Men and women have been shown to have different innate preferences on average even just out of the womb, when culture couldn't possibly have come into play. Blank slate is far from being a safe assumption.

TRP is more controversial, a controversial title means it rustles more jimmies and more people will hear about it. Yea, there's the thing that it was a metaphor from The Matrix, but there's little doubt in my mind that Cassie is well aware of these dynamics and is doing this on purpose. She wants her documentary to attract public eye. I'm not complaining, our interests happen to align. Yep, some people will get the wrong idea, but it's a worthy trade-off.

Dear mods, I'm all for freedom of speech, but these just-so stories shouldn't be stickied. This is possibly the MRM's largest hub, you have a responsibility to not actively endorse these sort of narratives until they've been triple checked, or you end up 1) poisoning the well like feminists did with their own and 2) offering free (and perfectly valid!) ammunition to detractors. I'm no historian, but I'm willing to bet most people here aren't either, and neither is the mod that decided to sticky …

I find that retort to be just as stupid. Lifespan is not an oppression/privilege index, and with no proof and the science still out there, you can look all over the place and find a million possible causes that have nothing to do with an unfair institutional advantage granted to women by society to explain the phenomenon - including biology.

Reason to exist is an artificial concept. You can trace back how you came to exist, but there's no way to determine why - if there is a why at all. The closest thing to someone's actual purpose can only be determined retroactively at one's death: you were supposed to do whatever you ended up doing. I live in Italy in a landlocked universitarian city. I'm not saying that the prince of fucking Sweden couldn't afford better - hell, if public image wasn't a concern I'm sure he could afford a harem full of 10s. But if you took a random group of 50 girls, you'd find maybe 5 who are at least as good looking. Even back in high school when we did an exchange with a Swedish class, she would have been the hottest in that bunch. Not what I'd call "rather ugly", at all.

Expectation, it would seem, is not a direct derivative of self-image. However, I'd like to also point out that this experiment proves nothing about self-image. There's multiple reasons why one could decide to choose "average". One could just prefer to go with the safe option when you just need to take a shit. Or, even if that didn't cross their mind, no one wants to look boastful regardless of how highly they think of themselves.
