You’re right. No one cares about “worth”. They aren’t setting standards based on their own “worth”. Just based on what they want. And if they don’t have a relationship because their standards are high, that’s also true. They don’t care if the person who meet their standards doesn’t want them. They’ll just keep looking for someone else, and stay single in the meantime

Sure other people can think their standards are too high, but again, it doesn’t matter to them. They’re going to have the high standards regardless. It’s got nothing to do with “deserve”. It’s just what they want and there’s nothing stopping them from holding out so they do.

I don’t think it does. No one really cares if they’re a minority. There’s the mentality of all or nothing going on, so if they can’t get their ideal guy or close to ideal, then they’re rather just hold out and be single instead. Which is fine.

It doesn’t matter though if the math checks out or not. And it also doesn’t have to be moral to be reasonable or justified.

I’m well aware. You seem to care a lot about random people’s dating standards. I’m letting you know it doesn’t matter. It’s a debate

Again, so? People, men and women, can want whatever standards they want. No one else has to actually do anything. If you don’t like the standards some rando has, just move on

So? Self improvement is for yourself. Not other women or other guys or other people. Self improve to make your own life better and more enjoyable.

People can say all sorts of things. Are they forcing you or using mind control? Nope. So just don’t if you don’t want to. If you don’t like a woman’s standards, just find someone else to date. Not hard

Everyone should always be self improving. That’s a good thing no matter the gender.

Then just don’t? You can have whatever standards you want, and refuse to date whoever you want. Just like women can have whatever standards they want and refuse to date whoever they want. It doesn’t matter.

I’m East Asian and I’ve lived in east Asia nearly my entire life. I think it’s a lot more to do with classism than with race. In poorer places, you’ll have people who go after white foreigners because they view them as having more money, and so it’s a ticket for them to a better life. I don’t blame them either, because for many it really is their best chance at elevating not only their quality of life, but their family’s as well. But if you go to the richer places then it doesn’t matter as much.…

I agree. I’ve never seen an Asian women from the upper echelons of society marry a white guy.

You have never spent any significant time trying to date in Asia. It’s is normal and very accepted to ask a guy how much he makes, how much his family is worth, and what he does as a job on the first date. If he doesn’t make enough the date ends there. Guys need the five C’s -cash, car, condo, credit card, country club membership. A lot of people consider a guy owning property as a prerequisite. It’s no less shallow, and in some cases even more picky because of the imbalance between men and wome…

I have lived in Asia all my life, and the only (straight) guys I have ever seen who couldn’t get a partner despite trying were all white foreigners.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
