Yes and no. I think it's more of a writers device to keeping the show tied together. If Hank successfully got back with his ex and all was well, the show would be over. Instead we get to watch him go on benders which bring him to different people and places, which is half the show. Not to mention even though he has oneitis, he sure has no problem accepting pussy elsewhere which defeats oneitis's biggest points.
