I actually don't trust the evidence or testimony of people to deliver perfect justice. So it's not a weak argument, because courts are inherently flawed, and I think if you asked the accused, they'd rather take their chances in a "damp concrete box."

Screw the death penalty. There are any number of heinous crimes that "deserve" death but the inadequacies of the death penalty convinction process will never be resolved as long as human hands touch the evidence. Actually I missed that aspect when I was reading the article (and you shouldn't be getting down voted either for bringing it up.) That, if anything, is where he went wrong. Women and men see the world differently. There's nothing wrong with inviting underrepresented viewpoints into a conversation. And I think that's all Wiki is doing, inviting, there's no force here. The NYT article even quotes the Wikipedia director as acknowledging that people are touchy about quotas or gender, and that she's simply seeking a wider range of experiences. This takes nothing away from the contributions of men, and I don't think it's at all a men vs. women issue.

I agree that Disney is ubiquitous, but her premise is that Disney is ubiquitous therefore Disney has a responsibility to the mental health of girls. Disney may market to children, but Disney is not responsible for children, caretakers are. Not only is the author blaming Disney for following a marketing strategy in its own interests, it is shifting responsibility of children away from caretakers and to the media.
