make sure to check the formulas on the CS sheet. Mine provided by court was wrong not in my favor. I caught the errors which spooked her lawyer.

in general child support and spousal support can only be to get her income up to no more than equaling hers. You don't owe your child college, in the divorce decree; you can work that out later with your child. Fight for joint custody and work out a reasonable visitation schedule. You didn't move out of the house, right? Record all your interactions not for a judge or the divorce, but to keep you out of jail for false claims, if the police show up. Important to stay calm around her.

I am going to answer this POV of a separated man. It isn't any more risky than dating a single man. As far as him getting back with her, that's a non likely scenario. Courts also don't care post separation, as long as it doesn't reset with cohabitation. So you being with him won't matter to his divorce. Maybe it's time he got his own dog? His marriage was for 2 years? 6-7 knew her? That's a short term marriage, and he is young. Much easier for him to move on.

Get a good trial lawyer. Ask good questions in free consultation. Look at 3 lawyers. Manage the process. Ask for a good legal assistant to help you prepare for trial. My lawyer was so good the opposition hired him for his daughter's divorce. If you can sit in a trial with the lawyer, how the judge treats the lawyer is an indicator of how good he is. Wife settled/didn't show up to court for final decree.

Worry about what debt and assets she accumulated during the marriage. That's where the 50/50 comes from. You won't have to pay for her loans if they happened before the marriage. Let her have the house and her loans...401Ks of hers during the marriage... half. Get a good legal assistant not the lawyer do the grunt work of discovery and preparation for trial. She will try to run you out of money. Might want to carry a recording device for your own out of jail protection (Johnny Depp cough), but i…

I can definitely empathize with you. I'm in the Washington DC area and am in my fifties with a kid now in college and 10 year old. I've been single for almost a decade. I do have family (Dad and stepmom very supportive; estranged from brothers) Your problems all have modern day solutions: Medical issue: there are monitoring services. Drive home from a bar: cut out the drinking out, call an uber/taxi. Need a computer: can you get by with your cell in a pinch? My questions (requirements) for frien…

OK, I'm from US, so I am going to give you more generalized advice. - (again look at Canada's laws - ask your lawyer) #1 Get a Good TRIAL Attorney. What this means is get one that can go to trial well prepared. I got really lucky with mine- I sat in court and watched 3 of my prospects. My ex's attorney called my lawyer while I was meeting him and hired him for his daughter's divorce. #2 hire a good legal assistant to do the trial preparation. #3 radio silence on divorce until you are ready, but …

Go silent, leave a receipt(fake) of a PI in your marital home. If she drops it and becomes lovey dovey she probably is buying for time. Never confirm or deny anything with her. Anyways 4 years is an easy divorce. Give her some 401K instead of the house... you probably don't have good equity? Prepare for her to break into your home if you change locks and move all papers/valuables to a private safe deposit or storage. She will clean out the marital home, multiple times if you give her the chance,…

You don't even need to do this. I had a really good lawyer who knew her lawyer and he bragged about telling him he advised me to hire a PI...which I didn't, but leaving a PI receipt where she could find. Also he deposed her with leading questions. That rattled her enough she settled. 50% custody 3 years of alimony I got off easily. Child support was nothing. Her lawyer called while I was meeting him and hired mine for his daughter. I did my research and hired a trial lawyer who prepared really w…

When gaslighting started I knew something was up. Her withdrawing her family from contact with me. Brought up open marriage. She started changing her appearance. Unexplained accident of a guy sideswiping her car when I was driving it - like the guy was mad at my wife and realized after that it wasn't her driving. Cop caught him (was behind him). No more Kino or affection shown. Sex dried up, her blaming me for not wanting sex and being cold... (projecting). Her moving to other room/couch. Unexpl…

I'd like to add that all divorce attorneys aren't the same. What you need is a divorce attorney that's a good/better trial attorney - especially where he is good at convincing the judge. That made all the difference in my divorce. FYI my wife's attorney hired mine for his daughter's divorce- so I knew I had the right one at that point. Also my wife had cheated on me, but I couldn't prove it in court, but my attorney put enough doubt in her mind by deposing her on record, that she didn't even sho…

IANAL, Check with your lawyer - and whomever you pick MANAGE Him. Get a good lawyer that is good in trial. I did and it will scare her lawyer. Her lawyer hired my lawyer to represent his daughter in her divorce. The good news is- check the state facts on nolo.com or google: California is pretty fair assets and debt will get split 50/50, though she will try to argue for more. You can get her evaluated for job via a court order. Probably you can get her to agree to this once a child reaches 14. …

This is why it is generally accepted practice for the man, once divorce has been mentioned or planned or in process, to have a digital recorder on all times running 24 hours. It is to have the proof of a lie and not get arrested, or served with some bullshit story to remove the kids. Make sure you have the recordings backed up for several months. IANAL, and states vary on the legality but the officers cannot charge you with a domestic abuse crime and usually it is not to be used as evidence, but…

I had a friends in my lifetime go through this with their significant others. Ignore the MR and RP stuff, it probably has nothing to do with the actual reasons. I was dating someone that when I had sex with her she basically zoned out in the middle... I stopped and she cried tears. I found out she had epilepsy that way. I feel your pain. You need to hunker down and fight for what is important to you (kids). She works CPS, she knows all the tricks. Temporary Orders become permanent. Are you giving her money? What state are you in? That matters as the laws differ significantly. Colorado is probably the worst state to divorce. Income disparity is an issue that is handled by more spousal support. 2 years you might not even need a lawyer, but you will likely have to shop around for one . Work or other memberships sometimes provide discounted legal referrals- worth it- you should not pay for initial consultations, and you should get an idea of rates and how much you will spend. Anyways, as much as you ca…

CA is a pretty fair state splitting income/assets when income is close to 50/50. You might want to make sure your car and assets you care about are taken care of before you drop the D. College is not a requirement for you to pay at all. Be a dad to your kids/stay involved in their lives. Seriously I would not tolerate disrespect from my kids. I'm in Virginia, feel for you man. How old is the child? How close is your son to his mom? Get documentation on her drunk driving/left son home. Get a lawyer and file. Six year marriage is easy at most you will pay 3 years spousal unless you fuck something up on your end (hint no domestic abuse). You can probably file and get temporary orders for custody, but at the least you will probably have to go to a judge and argue the case. You cannot just take your son. You will lose him that way. No children under 18? State? Do not feed her be very careful of your behavior. If it turns physical, let her hit you and don't hit back. Get an audio recorder have that going 24 hours or just when you think you will be around her. It is your only defense against domestic abuse. Judges tend to award generous child support and spousal support based on court spreadsheets (usually filled with mistakes benefiting the woman). The longer you pay the amount the more it becomes likely that will be the status quo payment in your decree. It is better to figure out what is the amounts calculated and set aside those amounts - then pay her less until she settles. You are likely on the hook for the court spreadsheet amounts from date of separation. Keep receipts from all money spent …

Hang in there man. I think you have a bad lawyer: A Nanny really? Does your STBX work? My take home after CS $1100 /SS $1600 is $3700. I make half as much as you. Spousal support ends in 1 year and kids are 14/8. I discovered some mistakes on the court spreadsheet. My final decree was signed before the new Trump tax law so I deduct the alimony from my income. I just wanted to point out that NONE of the categories in attachment theory are negative in any way. Nor is any preferred pair bonding attachments. In early childhood education it is used as a way for the educator to teach children more effectively and promote positive growth. In adults it's meant to understand strengths and weaknesses in relationships. It is meant to inform better strategies in different situations. Anyways, attachment theory peaked in the 1980s, and I haven't seen a lot of res…

I actually had a similar thing happen with the wife and TWO businesses... Though the second didn't fail - she just cashed it out before the divorce for herself. So if your wife wants to start a new business this is a red flag and you should prepare for the worse: That's what you do cash out on all your assets and pay the marital debt (including your lawyer)you'll otherwise be stuck with. What you don't know is even with an agreement, if circumstances change a judge can order a change and make the new tax law apply. Most judges favor women heavily. Additionally Dads lose out on dependent deductions, and any Head of Household status benefits(lower tax rates). My "Final Decree" has been changed THREE Times and I am only paying 4 years of Spousal Support. There is one change pending (she is trying to extend/increase payments by a year, but drop the payments down a little). I am worr…

Mods: This is not click bait, but I think is important to put in here as a topic for discussion (Legal Rights/ Financial Effects). Men as whole, generally, are the higher income earner so they get screwed more in this new tax law. Financial affects of any change to support agreements, temporary orders, final decrees? Net affect in most cases is most likely less take home income for the man, higher taxes rates, larger tax bill. Also, any changes to Child Support or Alimony caused by the new law m…

TLDR: Republicans screw divorced, to be divorced, and separated men multiple ways in new tax bill. "20. But say goodbye to the tax deduction for alimony payments. Alimony payments, which are codified in divorce agreements and go to the ex-spouse who earns less money, are no longer deductible for the person who writes the checks. This provision will apply to couples who sign divorce or separation paperwork after December 31, 2018. " Also men: LOSE any dependent exemptions, LOSE Lower tax rates fr…

I had a SEAL friend who had a dead bedroom caused by his sudden impotence. Turns out he when he got tested it came back bo-tox from the 2nd doctor. IDK whether to believe my friend. HE was away too much, declared dead twice, shot 6 times, survived; she wanted out for sure.

2 in 4 men don't get laid in college because they are black balled by Sororities and word of mouth. There another useless statistic. I'd like to see the actual data of this overly broad statistic. With your statistic one building on campus being built and the wolf whistling by the construction workers and the number will be 100%.

There was a pretty in depth study done pre-Tinder on women's responses to pictures of males that rated men considered ugly had more masculine features and were more attractive to women (they wanted to have sex with them over the other) then rounded facial features. I thought it kind of interesting that a Mandy Potinkin faced man got higher ratings than a Brad Pitt.
