don't do the crime if you can't do the time. my dad taught me that whenever you're tempted to do something wrong or dangerous, ask yourself if you're willing to live with the consequences... The consequences of her actions was shame and ridicule from society, whether this shame and ridicule is right or wrong or justified or not does not matter... She opted out, good for her, I'm not happy she died but I don't feel sorry for her either...she killed herself, nobody killed her...

It's usually the women in the groom's family like mothers and sisters that harass the bride and her family for dowry. India is portrayed as a patriarchal society but in reality, I would say that in the family unit women wield the most power and authority...well at least in 70% of the families... The man usually only earns while the woman decides how and where the money is spent... Indian men are idiots, it's a race full of betas...out of a billion Indians you'd be hard pressed to find a handful …

The problem is that dowry is an actual problem in certain communities and there are some families that actually do torture the brides and their families for dowry....it's almost impossible to get any data on how many dowry arrests are false accusations and how many are not! So I'm afraid this law is here to stay and be exploited...

In India we have something called "dowry laws" where a woman can accuse a man of demanding dowry and the man and his family can be jailed for this... There have been countless instances of men committing suicide because of women that abuse this law...
