Make a contract for yourself and literally sign it in pen: "I will not seek any information on these individuals, via social media or otherwise, for 30 days. No matter how tempting, no matter if their names pop up on my timeline, no matter if someone else asks me to or hints at news about them." Tell one trusted friend about it and give them a copy. Swear to them that you will tell them if you look up these two people in any way. If you succumb and don't hit 30 days, start over again with anothe…

Running, gentle yoga, meditation, reading, painting, sketching, journaling, listening to music (live or otherwise), researching and taking care of my houseplants, singing and playing guitar, spending time outdoors with friends or alone, and honestly reading this sub! Would love to add some volunteering to the list, and eventually go back to school for a master's degree. I poured myself into my hobbies and my fitness routine after my last break-up and I have no doubt that it sped up my healing. I…

I’d add “do not touch me/I prefer that you do not touch me”

Also, are you really alone if you have meaningful friendships, relationships with family (if applicable), and relationship with yourself? Heck no you're not!

Side note: if they're long on the right hand only, it could mean they play guitar. Still weird looking though.

This this this. I was engaged to a gainfully-employed man and felt completely alone in the relationship 90% of the time. No breadcrumbs from any man are worth it just to say I got married and "had someone" I love my freedom more than I loved him or our relationship. Don't settle for having someone around who doesn't improve your life.

I did 4 years WITH an engagement ring. Was still a waste of time. No longer accepting emotional breadcrumbs when I deserve a feast.

Thank you for explaining! Just didn’t want to confuse being progressive politically and being “down for anything” aka the “cool girl” you’re referring to. Your last paragraph = mic drop. Well said.

When you say liberal, are you referring to these women’s political opinions, or in the way that they act? I ask because I consider myself pretty damn liberal and have never acted or thought this way, and neither have my liberal and feminist female friends.

Maybe seek the ones who are actively working on alleviating some, if not all, of their baggage in therapy. Edit: format

“bet you can’t quote The Office better than me” - I’m unoriginal and hope you are too so I don’t have to work hard to learn about any of your unique interests

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
