It’s all feelings with them, not values or principals. Feelings shift over time. Values and principals don’t. So yeah, if everything is about how you feel, you’ll toss things out the window, regardless of what is right, or proper, or rational.

I was the primary cook, grocery shopper, and laundry guy. I dropped the kids off at school every morning. My wife, when she was employed, would leave for week-long work trips, leaving me to solo parent for long stretches while I ran a business. A week ago she looked me in the face, and told me she didn’t think I should get joint custody, because she didn’t think I could care for my girls. They’re insane. That’s all we need to conclude.

Honestly, I need to learn that about myself. All I know is I like music, I like the outdoors, and I love being a dad. I think I can build a very nice life on that.

Dude, in August my wife was cutting her wrists in front of my kids, and I’m almost certain I’m going to be starting from $0. That said, judges usually appreciate fathers that want 50/50. You will not have to pay child support, and it makes it much harder for her to ask for alimony. It’s also best for your kid.

Looking back on it, I can count all of the presents she’s bought me: two, a humidor for my birthday, and a chair for Father’s Day. One was while we were dating, the other when we were in our first year of marriage and she was pregnant with our first. What takes the cake was my 40th. She threw a surprise party, had my friends fly in on their own dime, and then spent maybe $100 on food, no booze. I had to pay for my own party. She got Costco chicken salad croissants, for a group of men. Didn’t thi…

It’s like with sex: we can’t demand it, and asking for it constantly makes both of us unhappy, so, yeah, doing things for your partner without them asking is kind of how things are supposed to go. What person doesn’t know that making someone coffee in the morning is universally appreciated? Or taking the time to make someone a nice, simple snack? This is relationships 101. It’s basic shit that every adult in a relationship should know.

You don’t have to get conspiratorial at this point. It’s just the culture, now. It began with Eat Pray Love, and has steadily gotten worse over time. My wife lost her job in May, and by July she was telling me she’d never let a man tell her what to do ever again, by August she was in a hospital, and in October she filed. All so she can be a podcaster, and be empowered. I’m a phenomenal husband, and we have two little girls.

Honestly, I stumbled on this Subreddit from r/all, and so I’m not quite certain what delineates a LVM from an HVM, but this is who I am: Late 30’s, Lawyer, not religious, married for three years, have a daughter and another on the way. So this is a topic that is on my mind quite a bit. Here’s my take: OnlyFans claims to have 1MM content creators. https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2020/dec/23/everyone-and-their-mum-is-on-it-onlyfans-boomed-in-popularity-during-the-pandemic The most popular s…
