Yup. Everyone that thinks people should be paid what they contribute is an incel, Nazi bigot. The fact remains they do in fact bring in less revenue. You are using one instance of one WC cycle where the men didn’t happen to qualify to make a point. You didn’t answer my question, why aren’t male and female gymnasts paid the same?

Because the men didn’t qualify for the last WC. Compare the “record breaking” final the women just played, 22 million viewers to an average group stage game the men play, 24 million viewers and you can see why the men are paid more. In the US, female gymnasts and figure skaters make more than their male counterparts. Where’s the outrage?

The WC winnings are a pool which all teams share from. The women’s team gets 13% of their pool, the men get 9% of theirs. The men’s World Cup makes 4 billion while the women’s makes 73 million. Yes it’s obvious more people in the US tuned in to watch the USNWT play in a final match vs watching France play Croatia. About 15 million people watched the game and that includes streams. Now compare that to the 24 million that tuned in to watch the men play a group stage game in 2014. A men’s group stage game drew more viewers than a women’s final. And they didn’t make any money off of that pool that year, see how it works? You generate the revenue, you get paid. You win games, you get paid. The men didn’t so they didn’t get paid. When they do get paid they are drawing from a bigger pool of cash as the men’s WC generates more revenue. They each get paid out of the pot of money they help fill. If women want to be paid equally they should increase the size of their pot. It’s pretty simple.
