This is something that an older cousin of mine pointed out too. When he was younger he said men always approached women in person. My experience? Hardly anyone does that anymore. Online dating has given them a risk free way to "get" women, without any fear of rejection. And like, I get it's hard to approach people and possibly get rejected. But I'd much rather go out with someone I met in person and have some idea of how we vibe together. Texting is so boring! Not to mention, many guys don't eve…

Liberal feminism is the patriarchys idea of what freedom for women is. "Be available for money! Sell your nudes online!" . Having women easily accessible is what the patriarchy has always wanted. Earlier it was through monetary coercion (no education for you, stay at home and be unable to support yourself woman). Since overt control is getting harder, and women have more options than before, its found a way to scam women into opressing themselves through trading consent for money.

Couple of things come to mind, relating mainly to how they treat those around them. In the beginning they will be trying to impress you so judge them based on their actions toward someone they dont have to impress: Integrity. Do they mean what they say, follow up their words with actions, and act consistently with how they say they feel? Not only in their interactions with you but also (and especially) in their interaction with others. In any instance where they've been "wronged" (if you ask or …

That sounds amazing. I love the little steps you're taking to live the kind of life you deserve. I think too often we postpone living until we have met some milestone - "I'll start those piano lessons once I switch to a new job" or "I'll decorate my room once I get promotion", even if you have the means and time to do all of those things right now. So congratulations and keep rising!

I was in a similar position to you. I was unhappy in my relationship with a guy who loved me, was caring and good. For the longest time i gaslighted myself into doubting my own unhappiness and discontent. I came up with so many reasons - "Maybe my standards are too unrealistic. Maybe my expectations are too high. Maybe I am overly critical. " On and on for months. All the time, gut was sending me strong signals that I needed to end things. I would feel relief when i was done hanging our with him…

Such an important point here - "LVM does not mean he is a bad person. Plenty of generally "good" men can be low value"

I used argue about femininsm till i was blue in the face. Usually after getting drunk which heightens my emotional state. I look back at the many many hours wasted on dudes for whom my lived reality is a hypothetical argument, who instead of showing empathy chose to play devil's advocate. Never again. Fron now on, I am walking away, and mentally cancelling the person. My time is too precious to waste.

I couldn't agree more. I never liked porn as such but I like most women was brainwashed into thinking its "normal", all guys do it, etc etc. I even watched on occasion. But further reading here really opened my eyes about the harm it does to women inside the industry as well as outside. Same for sex work. It's just a legal way to bypass true consent. I will never ever be pro porn and sex work, and I have no tolerance for men who are.

My housemate has been going on OLD dates, and i have been comparing her experiences with FDS princicples, especially spotting red flags. I am very pleased to say certain behaviours immediately triggered a "nah this is bullshit" response in me. And I was proved right each time. For example, the first date was with a guy who she had been talking to for a few days, and enjoyed speaking with. He 1) Asked her preferences for restaurants/diets 2) Suggested a fancy restaurant all on his own 3) Drove an…

Aside from the awesome idea's already mentioned here like a restaurant and the movies, I also enjoy going to the library. I make a day of it. I'll usually do a little research beforehand on the books to issue, but also spend some time wandering around looking at different books. Afterwards I go to a park and have myself a little picnic with a blanket and some snacks and read for a coupe of hours. Its a good low cost option

I instantly cringed when i read this title. Like its not even a specific question - "how do i meet quality men" or "what interpersonal skills are needed to sustain a relationship" . Just straight up - any advice is welcome. The question comes across as deferential to men and it's just sad. Lady needs to get some self respect asap.

"Some boys take a beautiful girl and hide her away from the rest of the world. I wanna be the one to walk in the sun And girls, they wanna have fu-un Oh girls just wanna have fun" Love this song

Hey! this is a good post - always nice to have a basic framework of which areas to focus a conversation on to get the most pertinent information sooner. One quick tip - your sentences are super long. Some punctuation would really help parse it easily.

I recently learned about the actual process of impregnation and it is so different from what we were taught in school! I recommend this great podcast on spotify - Short Wave : Is the sperm race a fairy tale? Very informative.

I couldn't agree more! When she is doing a striptease at the bachelor party, the camera didn't hover all over her body like in EVERY. OTHER. MOVIE. We saw only the men's faces; theirs reactions; their depravity. Love that they didn't sexualize her in order to depict sexualization. Other filmmakers should take note.

There's a phrase in my native language that I will try to translate here: "A donkey can't appreciate the smell of incense". It's not an snappy sounding in English, but I believe it has the right energy and is a good alternative.

This speaks to me so hard. I left a relationsship about a year back which perfectly fits this. He was crazy about me, wanted to get married (but I was hesitant), and was kind, respectful and overall nice. But he didn't excite me, and after a point spending time with him was draining. I would feel relieved when I got done hanging out with him. My gut was telling me to leave for a long long time. But I constantly doubted myself, questioned whether my motivations were correct and basically gaslight…

I've been identifying beauty rituals/items that make me feel good vs those that hurt me. By hurt I mean cause insecurity, lower my self appreciation, are uncomfortable or just downright painful. Some thing I eliminated were - 1 ) high heels or any heels. They fucking hurt. They are bad for your posture, bad for your toes and are horribly painful to even wear let alone walk in. 2 ) waxing - this one is harder but i absolutely cannot put myself through that kind of pain over and over again because…

The aesthetic aspects are on point as you say. The explicit femininity in terms of soundtrack comprising mostly of woman composers/performers, the liberal use of pink and makeup was an inspired touch. It was a lovely choice - that femininity (in the way we perceive it) was not stripped away because it was never at fault. As for the interview with the auter- what stuck with me was their explanation of the ending. I dont know how to shield replies to spoilers - but suffice to say - with their expl…

Potential Spoier Alert!!! I understand your feelings completely. It's painful seeing that true justice is not a straightforward path. I despaired at the movie too. What I found was truly unsettling was how realistic the depictions were. It didn't sugarcoat/dramaticize how a IRL person would handle this trauma (I'm referring to Cassie handing, not the real survivor). No ninja action strength person. Whenever a woman confronts a man, there is an inherent danger due to the difference in average phy…

Untamed is honestly a life changing book for me. I think all women should read it atleast once. I'm on my second reading right now and I'm highlighting every other sentence :PIt has such good messages on self empowerment, introspection and being authentic. Looking forward to checking out The confidence Code next! It's an area I struggle with a lot (and I've noticed mediocre men I know of have an excess of it)
