Two counter arguments: Social climbing becomes easier if you have a family. In business, especially, a lo of the rich folks I know will distrust a man in his 40s without a family. Plus, with a wife, your network instantly doubles Kids. Dunno about you, but I would like to pass on my genes

I did something once during a party in my college years. I ended up in a political argument with some chick. No one liked it because it was seriously killing the vibe. Well, my girlfriend wants to get married in her PJs. She hates attention. She was pre-med, but left it for humanities (even after getting straight A's). Which is another thing I dont understand: she's very analytical and great at math and science.
